We wanted a relaxing get away for a birthday celebration and some place where our little pooch would be welcomed. What we got was more than we expected. Even before we arrived, Peggy called ahead to answer all of our questions and even offered to find a dog sitter so we could enjoy a dinner at the Inn’s restaurant. We were so touched by this gesture. From the moment we arrived at the Inn, Peggy and Dudley made sure all three of us were taken care of. It felt like coming home. The Inn and the property is so welcoming and it was such a peaceful spot to nest for an extra long weekend. Add to that the incredible food at the Inn…and you could not have asked for a better way to celebrate. Meseret’s food and sense of creativity around taking simple ingredients and gravitating them to a level of excellence blew our minds. From the delicious breakfasts (included doggie treats too!) to the three course dinner - the food was incredible. We also got to enjoy the Dog & Oyster-where if you venture you must try the dessert oyster! We so loved our stay at this Inn and what made it even more special were the hospitality of Peggy & Dudley and their wonderful staff. Can’t wait to go back!

What a wonderful place. We wanted a nice weekend away and this is the place. We rented cabin 5 in the courtyard. While the outdoor bath and the salt water pool were not open yet because of the season, we just enjoyed the quiet. This is a place we will visit again this year. It is a place for adults, and we cannot wait for oysters in the vineyard or grab a drink at the Detention bar when we go back. Also there is a nice little espresso counter with the right equipment to make a perfect espresso. The owners Peggy and Dudley are wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfast prepared by Peggy and delivered by Dudley 8.30 AM. That poached pear was fantastic Peggy. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the lovely Heather who also served us the next evening at the inn’s restaurant. An excellent prix fixe dinner with wine expertly prepared by chef Meseret and served in front of the fireplace in the dining room was the ticket for us. We will be back and highly recommend this place if you want a nice getaway.

We wanted to get away for a few days, enjoy a good meal, walk in the woods and along the beach and rest. Staying at Hope & Glory allowed us to do all that and much more. First, Peggy & Dudley are the finest and most generous hosts. They welcomed us as we were long lost friends instead of the newcomers we were. The meal at the Colonade was fabulous - the Chef is divine. We stayed in the cottage which quickly became our home away from home. The trails and the preserve were a short distance away and we welcomed being in the outdoors - even in February weather. And the breakfasts each morning were simply delicious. We could not have asked for anything more - we highly recommend a stay at Hope & Glory you will not be disappointed in fact you will be thrilled!

The best hotel in the Weems/Irvington, VA area. We had a delightful time. The owners, Dudley and Peggy Patteson along with their incredible staff, Merrista (?spelling) and Heather were outstanding in every sense of the word. The Colonnade food was fabulous. All the staff was knowledgeable of the area and we took their advice. Hands down would definitely stay there again.

There are no enough stars to express how wonderful our stay was at Hope & Glory. The owners, Peggy & Dudley are fantastic - they are the ultimate in hospitality. The Chef is fabulous and we highly recommend having at least one dinner at the Colonade. The food is delicious; the preparation divine. Everything from the rooms to the homemade breakfasts to the surrounding environs was fabulous. We highly recommend at least a weekend at Hope & Glory

Hope and glory inn is fantastic Peggy and Dudley are very gracious inn keeper’s. The accommodations were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent!! Chef Meseret prepared an excellent valentine’s dinner. This is one of our favorite getaways and we will return.

The Hope and Glory Inn is a charming restored school house, with current amenities for a comfortable stay. The Colonnade Restaurant offers expertly prepared dishes with artfully combined flavors. The most impressive part of my stay was the personalized service. The chef and hostess were warm and attentive. They genuinely wanted me to have an exceptional experience, and I did.

This magnificent 19th century house and compound offer a splendid getaway from the daily grind. We were upgraded to one of seven cottages, which was a delightful little house off the beaten path. Everything about the accommodations was wonderful, beginning with the hostess Heather and ending with a very tasty breakfast each morning -- brought to our door by the proprietor. It tells you volumes that they don't need much marketing since most of their bookings are from repeat customers. Including us.
