I was struggling this season while skiing in low light - poor visibility conditions. I desperately needed a pair of goggles or my season would be limited to only clear days. I checked out this shop based on recommendations from friends. This team was awesome, they suggested another lens for my goggles which worked great on a cold powder day. Yay, you saved my season

In a world where companies are trying to be everything to everyone, it’s refreshing to see a store dedicated to their craft. If you’re seriously looking for helmet or goggles then this is THE place to go. They have a huge selection unlike any board shop I’ve seen. Their gear is brand name and high end. So sure you may find some cheap deal at a big box store or an off brand or an entry level model, but if you want some solid advice on customizing stuff for your head then check out Hard Headed. They also carry some additional accessories like face-masks, helmet audio equipment and a large selection of gloves.

One of the best features of Hard Headed in Steamboat is their comprehensive selection of goggles, lenses, and helmets from a variety of different manufacturers. All are available to try on for the best fit, which is very helpful. The staff are relatively knowledgeable and friendly, however, they are understandably fatigued from offering their advice to customers (myself included) who eventually walk away in part because of their high, not competitive, MSRP pricing. Unfortunately, the store lived up to its name when it refused to offer a discount on a pair of goggles offered by another retailer for a significantly lower price. No effort, at all, was made to incentivize a sale (ex. "We can't price match that as it's too low, but we would be happy to give you 20% off, 15% off, etc") instead the clerk insisted that it was full price or the highway. So, I walked with the knowledge of which goggles I will be purchasing elsewhere.

Owen is an amazing sales rep. Super patient and personable, he helped walk me through all the stops on what I should look for while investing in a helmet. Initially I was going to browse in store, then buy online, but with how much information he provided, it made me feel confident to buy not only the helmet but a pair of goggles too. Walked in with no expectations and left with what are the best goggles and the most comfortable helmet I have ever had. Brentley knew exactly what was best for me. Will definitely be returning!
