We were happy being in Alaska at the time of the Forest Fair in Girdwood Alaska. This event gets bigger every year. We went on a Fri and we were amazed at how busy it was. We did find parking spot only about a half mile away and walked down. There was a lot of great vendors selling their wares. The food trucks were plentiful. I got the Spinach bread which is fantastic. There was plenty of music and entertainment. This event has a great vib to it. They do have parking up at the ski lodge and shuttle busses to bring you down. Don't miss this gem when in Alaska in early July. Will we go back? If I'm up there hell yes.

The first Friday-Sunday of July! Lots of festivities for all ages. Saturday morning is the parade! It’s short but amazing. Beer garden is for adults only (you can take your kids in only if they are under 13 yrs of age). Booths sell a variety of handmade goods from clothing to jewelry to metal work to pottery and more! If the weather is nice the traffic is intense. Be patient and plan to arrive early or the night before and stay in one of Girdwood’s many vacation rentals.

Never got to experience because their shuttle system was so horrible. Spent 1.5 hours waiting for a new bus due to our purchased bus being overbooked, took 1.75 hours to get to the fair just to arrive when our booked return bus is due to leave. We went from scheduled 4 hours to never getting to experience because of their incompetence. Wasted an entire day.
