Can never go wrong here. you pick the venue you want to see. Friendly employees. Small seating area so it's very intimate. There is a bar for anyone who wants to use it for soft drinks or cocktails. Seems like the artist is a close friend because every seat is great and the crowd is kept to a minimums.

The Chief is a great venue no matter what is playing! It holds the heart of a wonderful community that has seen changes over the years. No matter the changes its heart beats strong. God bless the Chief and may we all support this Steamboat institution and all those that keep it alive and well!

Favorite venue in the boat! With years of historic performances of many kinds, this theater is perfect for seeing a show! It's small enough to offer an intimate space to be entertained, and always a variety of shows to choose from! I've both seen some of my favorite shows here (like The Wood Bros!) as well as given some of my favorite performances as well! (Cabaret, SuperFun, and of course Cannibal! The Musical by Trey Parker). The Chief players include regular improv nights, One Act Plays, and more! The building is super haunted in the best way possible for a theater, and I LOVE the Chief. Both as a place to rehearse and perform, and a place to see great shows of all kinds! Annual Rocky Horror and Big Bukowski movie nights (maybe someday even Repo! The Genetic Opera, please!?) Plus so many different musicians with different shows! Even met one of my music heroes not even knowing she would be there! Scott, The Chief of the Chief, has got the right mix of mojo, magic, music, mystery, and musicals! This theater is truly where all most interesting and talented people are drawn to! Check out the Marquee when cruising main street!

The Chief is a small/intimate theater. Less than 200 seats including folding chairs. Being that small there are no bad seats ( now that the center post is gone).
