Rooms are dirty. Bathroom sink leaked into the floor. Toothpaste all over the sink and mirror from past guests. Bathroom walls dirty, walls around headboard was dirty. Curtains only half way hanging they were falling off. Bed was comfy and seemed cleaned but towels didn’t seem clean. Used cup from prior guest in bathroom. Very outdated but wouldn’t mind that if it was cleaned. Had nice fire pit outside but was surrounded by many drunk men, so not really family friendly. Coffee maker didn’t work well. Room had weird smell.

We stayed here before in the "lodge" and it was at least clean. The rooms are about what you would expect, they haven't been updated since the 80s probably but at least there were no bed bugs. The king sized bed was comfortable and it was pet friendly. The price was definitely reasonable for the area and the room.
The 2nd time we stayed we were in a room down in the original part and it was the dirtiest room I've ever stayed in. We checked in and immediately left for the guys to go fishing so I didn't get to inspect the room right away. When we got back that evening it was already after lobby hours, 9a-7p, so I couldn't address my complaints to anyone. I guess if you're just here to fish and don't care about anything else it's ok but I'm disgusted with this room. The TV didn't work, it didn't look it had been cleaned since at least last year, there were flies and other bugs in the windows and on the floor, the batteries were dead on the door keypad so who knows when the last time someone was in here, we had to sleep with the windows open due to the stench of the room, I slept fully clothed bc I didn't trust the sheets were cleaned prior to us getting the room, and everything was just dirty. I understand the building is 70 years old and that's part of the charm but I wasn't expecting 70 years of filth. All this for double the price of the previous stay because trout season had just started. I want to support this location so bad because we love coming to Richwood. This is the only lodging outside of Air b&bs and it has so much potential but unless I have a room in the main "lodge" I won't be staying here again. I think the owners and/or management are also aware of their issues because there's a large handwritten sign on the office door saying "NO REFUNDS ALL SALES ARE FINAL". The office itself is another story and probably should have been an a huge red flag. Stuff everywhere, a bird cage that looks like it hasn't been changed since they got the bird, and just all around disarray. But again, at least there's no bed bugs.

The beds were really hard. There was all kinds of hair in both beds look like dog hair so the beds hadn't been changed. The room were so grimy it looks like the room has not been cleaned other than the trash being taken out for months. There's somebody else's toothpaste all over the mirror in the bathroom from visitors before. There's a hole in the ceiling where it looks like a lake had been coming in. The drywall tape is peeling in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling. And there's a trash can outside the door that is completely overflowing that smells like a dead animal is in it. The staff was very kind and helpful. However I was charged $20 more than what I was told it was going to be when we left on our journey The place needs a serious deep clean and some repairs. It does have beautiful view this could be a very nice place I'm sure it was at one time. It is a convenient location to some very good trout fishing catch and release and catch and keep.

Room hasn't been cleaned in months, the dust was thick on every Ledge in the room. There was a dead worm laying in the bathroom floor and the area around the bottom of the toilet hasnt been cleaned in forever. carpet hasn't been vacuumed and no telling how long. And I would say the carpet hasnt been cleaned in many months maybe years. they're stained horrible. As far as I could see the bed sheets themselves were pretty clean. It's very outdated funky piece together Furniture curtains half hanging on the rod the best thing.i could say it was only $61.The front desk guy was very friendly very helpful invited me out to their fire for a beer and music. If they would just clean the carpets take a bucket of soap and water and rags and actually clean the room it would be fairly nice it's just neglected.

I'm assuming the owners were who we spoke to when checking out. They are nice. And the room did not have bed bugs. That's the two stars. Room 108 see the pictures... nope... never again. The $54.88 price per night was great. But I would rather pay $78 per night and have a clean room. We stopped at Dollar General in town and bought cleaning supplies. the place is gross. This is a family-owned business and they need to step up their game and clean the place and maintain it. The locals were surprised we even stayed there. Most recommended B&B or Airbnb. The place could be amazing.

After reading the reviews, I was a little reluctant to stay here. But because we wanted a rustic hotel and not a Hilton, we took a chance. Wow, what a great decision that was! We had a nice, clean, simple room. Shampoo, soap and coffee was provided. There was many channels to pick from on the TV for anyone that wanted to relax to a tv show. Internet worked great. Since we had a lower room, it was quiet except for the babbling creek behind our room. We loved everything about our stay and we do plan to stay here again on our next trip to this area.

I was raised in this town, but now live out of state. Took my kids and grandkids home for a visit. We LOVED IT! It's a little out dated, but the view is beautiful. We had an efficiency apt,and we were all quite pleased with our accomodations. I will definitely make a point to go back!

Richwood, WV has been my happy place since I was eight years old. I go there to fish and camp in the National Forest. When I stay at the Four Seasons, it is often the last place where I have access to running water and indoor plumbing. Keep that in mind when you book your trip.||The sheets are clean, and the location is awesome! If you have someone in your group who is accustomed to finer accommodations, there is a Dollar Store in town with Clorox Wipes. If that does not work for you, there are very good AirBnB options in town.||Richwood in a town built by hearty folks. Learn to appreciate it. Don't try to change it just to fit your lifestyle and expectations.
