Barely any communication after initial payment. Took over a year for them to file with the court and they did they complete opposite of what was discussed. I ended up dropping the case and taking the loss because it wasn’t worth it to deal with them anymore.

Would NOT recommend this attorney. STILL waiting for a response from him. I retained Leonard Myers to represent my elderly mother and I regarding a case that involved a home warranty company, American Home Shield, and a number of other issues that were a tragic result of this company’s failure to honor our home warranty to replace a faulty furnace during a snow storm. The Department of Environmental Quality was, and still is, involved in a massive cleanup of an underground diesel fuel leak which was not disclosed to us when purchasing the home by the homeowner and the real estate agent who had knowledge of it. The state of Virginia has paid well over $100,000 to this date out of the tank fund program, which comes from federal funding. Leonard Myers took over $3,000 and afterwards there was zero communication. We kept trying to contact him and his paralegal who would not return calls or emails. Nearly a year later he contacted me out of the blue and had another attorney who joined the conversation on three way. He attempted to have an attorney explain to me that the statute of limitations by then were up therefore there was nothing he could do. I contacted the Department of Environmental Quality and their representative (Petro Chem) who was the contractor handling the situation and cleanup. The contractor was shocked and stated that they were never contacted by Leonard Myers after we retained him, and they were still cleaning up the massive contamination therefore the problem was ongoing and far from being a matter of the statute of limitations. When I requested a detailed statement for our account from him, he provided us with a last minute dated motion to the court which was never filed and full of errors and false information. He used this “motion” that was never filed as an excuse for his time that was billed and not to return my mother’s money to her. We contacted him again for the name of the attorney who was not an associate of his law firm who told me they couldn’t help and he wouldn’t provide me with the attorney’s name and contact information. We found him to be very unethical and I would not recommend this attorney to anyone. As a result of his representation, my mother and I were failed and didn’t receive any compensation or justice for what had happened. Ironically we saw that Leonard Myers later ran for some sort of political position and used environmental protection issues as part of his campaign. If you choose to retain this attorney be sure to record all conversations and save your documentation such as unanswered emails etc. as we did.
