They are okay
They try their best to make sure we are taken care of. Upon move in there was so much that should have been addressed beforehand but they fixed it quickly.
The quality of the house/materials is lacking but I can't say I blame this office for corporate decisions.
I would recommend people to live on base. It's wonderful having maintenence on call for emergency fixes and over all it is great being on base. Housing hosts events, gives out flower seeds for the front garden beds, grass seed for the backyards, and free mulch. They seem to really try

This was my first and last experience renting with Balfour Beatty Housing. The houses use the absolute cheapest materials which equates to things not lasting in the home especially with children or pets. The maintenance team is mostly friendly and I don't fault them for having to use low quality materials, I am sure that is a corporate decision. However the biggest warning I can give is DO NOT rent from them if you have pets. Despite being "pet friendly" they seem to charge for every minor thing when moving out especially carpets. If your pets have even a minor accident they will have you replace the entire carpet upon move out and make no attempt to use modern methods of cleaning carpets. They black out the windows and rip up carpets and use black lights to look for even minor stains. They install economy low grade carpet and it is not "cheap" when they charge you. Just a word of caution for pet owners. If you do decide to rent from them take plenty of photos and video when moving in to protect yourself from them trying to charge for previous damages and shoddy materials when moving out.

Maintenance here is a sham! They are rude. They are liars. And disgusting. I have had them come into my home without my permission while I was out running errands and my husband was deployed. They took pictures of my dogs, my basement, my bathroom, my personal belongings…. And then said they never met the owner and only met our house sitters. One instance this man spoke about was actually ME that he was talking to not a house sitter. These people invade our privacy and are SO rude when their poor handy work fails and they have to “fix” it again. I have had parts of the bathroom cabinet fall off and you can see the glue and the screws put in totally wrong. We put in a request for a new window because water was leaking and it took 5 months for them to get to it…. Leaving behind water damage in the wall and our furniture. We have had dirt coming up from the vents since the day we moved in. When he looked at it he said oh yeah that needs to be cleaned and said he’d put an order in and that never happened. We’ve been here for two years and are PCSing next month. We’ve never been more eager to get out of housing. Worst maintenance on base that I’ve ever had to deal with. You can go look at your work orders and see images of your home for “annual inspection” and see the things they say and claim that are untrue.

Great housing, unless you live next door to horrible people. No one will help you if your neighbors are trashy alcoholics. Tons of unsupervised children, and awful parents. I wish I would have moved into the single wide trailer park. Same experience, but much cheaper.

I've heard sketchy things about the housing here. However, management has since changed and I haven't had any issues as of yet. Staff has been polite and transparent. Maintenance has not been slacking, if anything, it seems like they're catching up from previous maintenance Management's incompetency. Many of my friends have said that maintenance has been out at their house daily fixing a plethora of issues with their house and are on top of things. I will update this review later on but as of now, don't fear living here.

2022 update: maintenance is pretty alright. Our backyard situation is frusturating because maintenance refuses to help us fix it in any way. Our tree's pine needles kill our grass. Other than that, maintenance is pretty good. The house itself is a duplex on Tree-side, and has not been dissapointing. Its not luxury, but its better than an average trailer by far, and it has been nice living on base. With housing prices today, its almost a must, I get E-4 pay, and my wife works full time, making a little less than i do each month. She pockets much more because base housing simply takes my BAH Like all bases. But nonetheless, Id reccomend living on base for those making less than 80k gross/year. The spokane housing market is not worth it.

In my experience the maintenance men are wonderful they do what they can with what the are allowed. On the flip side the maintenance office staff (all but one guy with dark hair) are the absolute worst! Then if you have a serious problem you are sent to someone government side who is a condescending bully! (Not going to post names yet, but if you know you know) seriouly though I pray I never have to speak to that person again, it was a terrible experience, he seriously acted as though they do us a favor, allowing us to live here! Fairchild Homes has been the worst baulfour community we've had to deal with in 14 years! (And thats saying A LOT) They are in the homes here every 3 months, to hell with your schedule they give 48 hour notice and you better adjust. Once I had to tell them my Teen daughter would be home alone (summer time), and the man said to me "can't she leave for a while" um no, it's her house, she freaking lives here! Another time in the 12 to 4 window I had a doctors apt, I went, and got a nasty call from the lady in the office saying "we gave you 48 hour notice" with the snarkiest of tones, ummm so I need to cancel my doctors appointment, I think not! I waited a month to get in. I tried to reschedule with maintenance when i got the notice and was told no, so I gave 48 notice as well!! They (the people in the maintenance office) do not make it pleasant to live on base! If you haven't had a run in with the maintenance office staff consider yourself lucky!!

Update: Just transferd houses and it's been a stressful event. I let maintenance know what was going on and was put in touch with the supervisor (who has always been good to us) and our problems were handled in 15 minutes. Again my experience with the actual maintenance men and the maintenance supervisor has always been good. It has just been the office staff I've had issues with.
Also move out inspection was easy peasy, which was great!

We had two separate rooms, a kitchenette, and everything for only 60 bucks. It was clean and classy both. Awesome!

Our time living here was great! Maintenance was excellent and the move out inspection was smooth.
