Just had these guys process a deer for me (2024 second rifle) and they were great. I was flying and was on a tight schedule which they accommodated and I got more meat than I expected. All the meat was vacuumed sealed and labeled. I will being using them again for sure

This muzzle loader season we dropped off a bull elk 1/4 and clean. We went to pick it up the day we were leaving and we were told it would be ready Monday. We then asked to give us our meat since it hadn’t been processed yet. Scott told us he couldn’t do that. So we left after waiting for about a month and a half 60 lbs of meat showed up! They said we would be receiving about 140lbs. They changed 600$+ for cutting the elk. 6lbs of back-straps seems really light to me. We’ve made multiple attempts to get them to make it right and they’ve all but told us to go f ourselves. I would never us this butcher!! I’ve used some bad butchers in the past but this place is the worst.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BUTCHER

During last September 2014's Archery season my 15 year old son successfully harvested his first deer while I also filled my deer tag. While I've previously used another Steamboat based meat processor, this time we asked some folks at the Hahn's Peak Roadhouse for a recommendation and were directed to Elk River Custom Wild Game Processing. We were extremely pleased with the owner, his staff and shop, friendliness, timeliness (had our two deer ready in 48 hours), pricing and packaging. We recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience and will be utilizing their services again this fall as we had an excellent experience.

The outfitter packed my buddies bull out on Tuesday of first rifle. Dropped it off at elk river custom meats. They didn’t process it, just kept it cold. Five game bags. 4 elk quarters and the 5th had the back straps and tenderloins. When we picked it up the 5th bag was now broken down into two bag. My buddy immediately dumped the game bags and to our surprise one of his tenderloins was missing. Out of state hunters beware of this place.

Sent in a large elk cow, clean shot in the neck and received 1 box of meat (approx 67lbs). Paid high price for hamburger and a few steaks! When questioned, we were told “Elk were smaller this year.” I scream BS on this shady business. My nephew also had his elk cow processed at the same time, his was a little smaller, but still good sized, and when he picked up his small box he was told well “maybe you got a calf” and then the same “elk are smaller this year” excuse. Funny how we both received the same box of meat, mostly hamburger. Would like to know who is receiving the rest of our meat!

I have had numerous animals processed here, deer and elk, and greatly appreciate the excellent job they do, especially in the double wrapping, which at altitude makes the best sense. The quality of the finished product is table ready and exactly what I ask for. Thank you.

Same name, but new owners. They are the same owners of AGP in Craig. By far the best meat processors in NW Colorado.
