This experience is a bargain compared to Vail's summer gondola rides. $46 dollars gets your three rides, and once you get to the top of the Elk Camp gondola base, it opens up quite a few outstanding hiking trails to explore plus a nice lodge for food and drinks. Buying a ticket for this ride in the summer also gives you access to the Silver Queen Gondola in downtown Aspen, which is a lot of fun as well.

Just remember that you get 3 rides over 7 days for $46. I wasn't made aware of that when I purchased my ticket and missed one of my three rides. The girl who was the manager at the ticket office near the Elk Camp Gondola base was not very nice about rectifying the situation either. It was very poor customer service, but I'll keep this experience at 4 stars because the hiking once at the top is great.

I was stuck between Elk Camp Gondola and Silver Queen Gondola for our fall trip to Aspen. We ended up choosing Elk Camp Gondola, and I will say that I was very disappointed. I spent $72 to not really see anything spectacular at the top. There wasn't much to do at the top, and the view wasn't worth it. We went up and came back down immediately. For summer, perhaps Aspen's Silver Queen Gondola might be a better option. The drive from Colorado Springs to Aspen was 100x more beautiful than riding this up and down.

#elkcampgondola you gotta do better. $294 for family of 5, due to lines, lightning strikes (you can't control), and closed attractions we get 1 alpine ride in and denied a chair lift ride at 346pm, and we got up here at 2!!!

Elk Camp Gondola is an excellent way to access the eastern side of Snowmass. The restaurant and facilities at the top of the gondola are fantastic. The restaurant does offer a special dinner service.

Trying to get there is really weird. Google maps or even maps does not have accurate directions but the place is amazing and if you are afraid of heights this is perfect, the gondola goes slow and is not super high.
