While traveling through Elma, Washington, about 2.5 hours away from home, I had a sudden and stressful experience with my car. Several system warning codes—four or five—popped up, and I wasn’t sure if it was even safe to drive or turn off the vehicle. My first stop was a local mechanic shop, but unfortunately, they refused to help or run a quick diagnostic. Despite explaining that I was just passing through and only needed a few minutes of their time, they insisted on only diagnosing cars if they were committed to performing repairs, even though I was in a difficult situation.

Feeling frustrated and worried, I headed to East County Automotive, the only other shop in town. I am incredibly grateful for Doug, who went above and beyond. He took the time to run a diagnostic, thoroughly explained the issue, and ensured I was safe to continue my drive home. Doug’s kindness and willingness to help a stranger in need made a huge difference, and I am so thankful for this honest, reliable, and helpful business. . Do it yourself a favor and take your vehicle somewhere else do not go here. If you do find yourself in a predicament and have to go to East county make sure you double check their work I've had multiple vehicles sent into this place and I've had nothing but issues every time I get a vehicle back. I would take my vehicles to Andy's automotive on main Street.

Stumbled across this gem. The staff are very professional! The facility has a guest waiting area stocked with beverages, a tv to watch while waiting, restroom in site, and free coffee or water. They are highly recommended! Fast service too!!

I'll try to make a long-story short! I was on a road trip from British Columbia to several points in Washington to pick up some vintage Dodge parts. My transfer case destroyed itself while driving through Everett. I had to leave my truck at a repair shop in Everett and get a new driveshaft and transfer case. After repairs I returned to Everett and continued my original trip to get the vintage parts. While getting some of the vintage parts I checked underneath the truck and discovered the straps on the rear universal joint were not holding the u-joint tight. I was able to repair one of the straps myself but the other strap had a stripped bolt. As luck would have it, East County automotive was close by. I stopped in there and explained my predicament. They brought my truck in right away and after 30 minutes of work they had a solid fix completed. When it was done they refused to bill me for the work. Thank you so much for helping me out! I got home safe and sound. Without that fix I would have had to tow my truck as an imbalanced driveshaft would've surely taken out my transfer case again!
It's nice to know there are some great people and shops out there!

East county automotive has done me very well. I really like dealing with Doug. I have a 2021 Tacoma and a 2002 4Runner that I take to them. They've always been extremely honest, accurate and affordable. I'm going to be moving to Olympia, but I'm still going to bring my vehicles to East county automotive!

This review is long overdue but these guys are amazing!

A few months ago I was visiting WA on a business trip and had to get out to Montesano for work so I borrowed a friend's car for a few hours. On my drive out there, the car started giving me trouble. Originally, I thought it was just the battery but it turns out it was also the alternator. I barely made it to the shop and was told it would be hours, if not a day, before I would get my car back. I almost cried. I didn't know anyone in Elma and had to be back in Seattle that evening to make my flight. The guys at the shop did everything they could to get me back on the road within a few hours and even lent me their car so that I could drive to Montesano and get my work done. I was back in Seattle that afternoon and was able to get on my flight back home. I will forever be grateful to everyone at this shop who helped me out. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We broke down towing a travel trailer on our way back from a family camping trip. We just happened to pull off on the same road as East County Automotive LLC. It was a Sunday so they were closed yet they allowed us to park overnight. The staff were so kind and accommodating...squeezed us into the schedule, ordered parts and had us back onto the road by noon!! Thank you!! We highly recommend this place!
