Best selection of meats in north Seattle. Service is excellent and prices consistently beat the grocery stores. The staff are super friendly. Oh, and the hot sauce/marinade selection is out of this world. Be sure to get some sausages and beef jerky while you are there. The chicken is local and has no added solutions like you will find at the supermarket or Costco.

An institution of long-standing up here and for very good reason. They do offer butchery for hunters but the bread and butter of their business is definitely people doing their grocery shopping. The prices can't keep up with 1 or 2 of the big box stores but they get excellent quality and a really nice selection. Their housemade sausages and jerkies and pepperoni's are amazing. They do offer hanger packs so you can get a lot of stuff at a good price. You can very easily diversify your protein shopping here and that's not even to mention the fact that they have hundreds if not a 1000 different hot sauces on the shelves.

Let me first say that we truly enjoy the meats we buy here but this review is regarding their “fresh turkeys” for Thanksgiving only. Ordered one in-store a few weeks back, as did my neighbor, and we both were told they were “fresh” turkeys and to pick them up two days before Thanksgiving. Once we got them home and unwrapped we noticed they were considerably frozen inside and my neighbors was badly bruised or something like that as there were black spots in various places. Most people think of “fresh” turkeys as not being frozen or partially frozen, as you can buy those or even receive them for free with other purchases at grocery stores everywhere. Turned out these were the same brand that QFC carries, Northwest Natural, were $1.21/pound more, and were frozen or partially frozen upon delivery to DD (they lay them out to thaw as we witnessed) just like QFC does. So if you want a “fresh” turkey that is truly fresh, I suggest finding a live poultry store or farm that also slaughters, to truly bring a “fresh” turkey to your table. The owner was kind enough to give us each a ribeye steak for the confusion here after we returned the original ones and picked up two still partially frozen ones again, and we thank her for doing that, but do know that you are not buying anything different or better than you would find at the supermarket and just paying more money in the end. And you will need more than one to two days to thaw it out properly unless you resort to thawing in water which is not ideal, as we had to do unfortunately. Learned a lot from this experience regarding “fresh” turkeys. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Excellent service and quality. The juicy pork roast was the highlight of our weekend. Vacuum sealed by Double DD and prepared at home sous-vide and finished under the broiler. Yum!

These guys got it down working as a team!!!!! Always waving for the next customer to help we got a nice sauce and some beef jerky. I love the variety this store has to offer and all the memorabilia 🙌 there is something for everyone even your doggies!
