In the future, Maybe Derby/Shelton will be renovated with new platforms, amenities, accessibilities and ticket machines including information and waiting areas for improvement services. All stations in Waterbury Branch need to be renovated.

Short station with an unheated, unenclosed shelter, some benches, and squat else. Low illumination, and quite isolated, so caution is advisable. Next to the Valley Transit District, but do NOT try to exit in the VTD's direction since that is a dead end. The station's facilities appear to be in good repair. Parking for roughly fifteen cars.
