It is perplexing that this establishment is not listed as one of the best delis in Connecticut, as the quality of the sandwiches served here far surpasses any other deli in the area. In fact, I would go so far as to say that these are the best sandwiches I have ever had.

All sandwiches are remarkable and the bread is always fresh and perfectly toasted. In terms of value, the portions are generous and satisfying, making it an excellent option for a fulfilling meal. The pricing is also reasonable, given the quality of the food and the service.

This place is by far a hidden gem that deserves more recognition for its exceptional sandwiches. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality sandwich for lunch.

This place is an absolute must-try, and my weekly go-to. Everything super fresh, so many in-house made options. The sweet house-made sausage is insane how good. Best steak selection around, I make an extra trip after Whole Foods because the steaks are that much better. Time for the real street intel…

Chicken cutlet, melted American, lettuce, tomato, red onion, light mayo, and Russian dressing. Try it. Trust me. Virtual high five.

Exceptional quality meats at Darien butcher!. Never had a bad experience, The owner and staff are always very helpful and will prepare any cuts that you want if you don’t see what you need in there wide selection. I’ve been shopping with them for about three years now and won’t buy my pork chops or beef anywhere else. Highly recommend!

Definitely the best butcher around. The sausages and burgers here really set this place apart. They are perfectly seasoned. The butchers here are very accommodating. They have literally made us burgers from scratch on the spot when they didn't have bacon cheeseburgers on hand. Very nice addition to the area.

I love this Butcher shop! They always cut my chuck roast meat for me so I don't have to 🙂 and they explain all the different types of steak they have so I understand exactly what I'm buying. The friendliest place ever with the best quality food!

We were looking for the better burger for a family cookout, Peter made them up personally and they were the best ever. That was until today when we went back for seconds. Seeing the lamb burgers in the case and having never had one it was too much temptation not to try. Insanely good these will blow your hair back and no condiments needed just a bun which they have as well.

Unfortunately, as a food spot, a lot of the young college aged kids cutting the meat were not wearing masks. We also over heard other couples deciding if they should stay or leave.

While the sandwiches were really good, if a food establishment doesn’t take health precautions seriously I can’t ever go back. If wearing a simple mask is hard not sure how other sanitary measures are. Interesting how other comments also notice this problem so it seems like it’s consistent. Disappointing really.

Edit: The response was “strict mask requirements” though multiple comments all say the same thing. Again all of these were during height of pandemic before vaccines/mask mandates lifted.

Helpful, friendly, and a clean shop. This guy Peter Crawford clearly knows his stuff and can walk you through your next meat adventure. Grilling season is on its way, don't be the last one on your block to know where to get fresh sausages (including merguez and bangers!), grass-fed beef steaks, and pretty much anything else you're after.
