If you're looking for mechanical repair/service, BEWARE!

I was referred to DACO Corporation by the manufacturer for the automatic shrinkwrap machine that I purchased, as the machine stopped working. My initial contact with the DACO technician was on September 4. Today is October 28 and repairs are still not complete/the machine is still broken... all while the warranty repair parts were in DACO's possession since October 7. The technician scheduled himself to be at the warehouse for (what I hoped for would be) a final repair and completion on October 15. That day came and went without any communication that he was not showing up. This is not the first time appointments were missed. Every time the missed appointment was nicely questioned -- i.e. "hope to see you today!" or "Hi XXXX, what's your ETA?" the response is "I have done this repair as courtesy to you and Highlight Industries... " Mind you, this is WHO Highlight Industries is referring their warranty claims to! After multiple calls and texts to the technician as well as the office, the technician stops by. See photo of the text conversation with said technician. Evidently, when the tech fails to communicate on status of repair/not being able to meet his own scheduled appointments, calling the office to find a resolution is considered a "badgering" and a complaint? And how does DACO deal with complaints? Refusing to service! After almost two months of waiting on repairs?! Make it make sense!

DACO, in their response below that they chose to provide support at no cost, is pitiful at best. It COST me plenty to have believed they would fix my machine. Almost two months in downed equipment has negatively impacted my operation, not to mention the additional grievances of this muck of an experience. Sorry not sorry, the response is invalid.

In the afternoon after receiving my parts back, I contacted the manufacturer who referred me out to another local servicing company, and guess what? Not even 12 hours after the initial call, we are up and running! The new footswitch that was sent wasn't even needed... I'll leave it at that.

I showed up at their warehouse (with a 5 year old in tow) from Portland hoping to get a small order of shipping totes. They are not a retail operation and not set up to manage wannabe customers like me but they went above and beyond to pull the order for me and get me on my way as quickly as possible. Just the most wonderful, kind and warm people.

I placed a very small order ($130 worth of wire decking), you would have thought I was filling a Home Depot based on the service (Brad was the salesman)! Very impressed! Give these guys a try for your next material handling needs, I get the impression they will make sure you are not disappointed!
