Our Sunday School class had a wonderful time. We had a full schedule and toured many places in two days, but time in the Lodge talking and sharing was the very best experience. We prayed together, had wonderful devotions and learned about our classmates and their experiences. We had delicious breakfasts each morning and were very comfortable in the lodge.

Decent and quaint facilities. I stayed in the motel for a running race in Old Fort. Definitely cheaper and cleaner than your local 2 star motels like Super 8. It doesn’t have amenities like the others. It’s bare bones, 2 double beds, shower, and sink. No mini fridge or even lamps on night stand. But hey, I just needed something better than camping and this fit the bill. I would definitely stay again and likely my go to spot if available when I’m in the area. Most ppl I talked to don’t even know about this place.

This is an older motel that has been kept in good condition. Clean rooms, beautiful outdoors. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate station. Trails, corn hole, 2 different playgrounds, a gym for kids to play, a nice big porch with table games. Close to town if you need to go. We will be going back.

This is our new favorite, basic, inexpensive place to stay in Black Mountain.
Just the basics-with a smile.
Matthew & staff are smiling, wonderful people. We are frequently needing to stay one or two nights in Black Mountain due to a project and this is a perfect solution.
They provide a coffee station in the main building along with a microwave and community frig.
The grounds are wonderful for kids to run off energy or for a walk.
The views are wonderful ⛰️🏔️🗻
No meal service for single rooms in off season, but we grabbed something in town.
No elevator that I saw but first floor rooms were available. Note - for the price savings, guests are asked to strip beds and empty trash. Easy steps to get a room at half the price of something in town, in my opinion. 😉
I think this would be an economical way to host an extended family gathering.
The reception area has tshirts and a few other items, along with hand made wooden bowls from a local artist.
The front porch is big and welcoming with a line up of rocking chairs.

Cragmont facilities served us as a family well! Plenty of activities to keep the younger generation busy & sitting on the porch catching up with each other & enjoying the quiet of nature. . even saw a bear meandering along! (It would be helpful to hv a sink & stove in the basement of the main building, esp a sink) but with y’all taking care of our main meals, it worked!

My sister & I really enjoyed staying at Cragmont Assembly. Matthew lit us a fire in the fireplace and we were able to sit in the rocking chairs & enjoy the fellowship. Cragmont is accessible to many sights around Black Mountain & Asheville. Our room was clean & inviting. Cragmont is so peaceful & I hope to stay more this year.

The stayed at Cragmont for a mother / daughter weekend. We enjoyed Black Mountain and Asheville. The Hollifield house is wonderful with all the amenities you need for an extended stay. The king bed is so comfy! I highly recommend staying at the peaceful retreat.

We needed last-minute, inexpensive lodging for two nights. Cragmont Assembly fit the bill. The setting is lovely. We stayed in the motel, which was very basic, but quite clean, and comfortable enough. Matthew was very kind - we were afraid we wouldn't make it there by 8 and he said he would be available to check us in if we couldn't (be sure to contact him ahead about that!) We ate breakfast there the first morning (again, be sure to arrange that ahead of time) and it was excellent. Everyone we ran into was happy and friendly.

For a very small price, we had lodgings comparable to a budget motel, but cleaner and without the smoke smell, noise, and shady characters! We were very happy with our experience!
