Elliott Yug!! Great attorney, and always responds to my emails. He does what he can. The thing people have to remember is that public defenders see these judges and prosecutors every single day. If you're Expecting them to go into court and piss everyone off just to make a client happy then prepare to be very disappointed. If you have realistic expectations then you'll be happy with the outcome that you'll get with Mr. Yug!!

If you had a bad experience it’s probably because you didn’t make the time to speak with someone. Good communication on their end. Done in a timely manner. It’s very obvious how heavy their workload is after some chatting and that certainly gave a new perspective on the weight they hold. Despite having their hands OVERfilled, their dedication to the job is evident. Job well done.

Shoutout to my Public Defender Noah. He did an amazing job in court and all my charges were dropped. I’ve had really bad luck w/the law and surprisingly this was a really good experience overall.

I was assigned a public defender for my case through Cowlitz County Public Defense years ago and scheduled for a one-hour meeting. Unfortunately, the meeting was completely unproductive. The attorney did not explain the purpose of the appointment, my legal options, or what to expect in the courtroom. Despite engaging in multiple conversations with the prosecuting attorney, he provided me with very little information about the case.

When my first court date arrived, the attorney’s only advice was to plead guilty and express remorse to the judge. This came as a shock to me, as I had no understanding of the situation and was completely innocent of the charges. At 28 years old, with no prior legal issues or even a traffic ticket, I was terrified and relied on my attorney for guidance. Instead, I received what I now know to be the worst possible advice.

I was not informed that pleading guilty would result in a permanent mark on my record, nor was I told that I could fight the charges and potentially clear my name later. This attorney’s negligence has had devastating consequences on my life. He showed no interest in defending me, and it became evident that he was more concerned with expediting cases than providing adequate representation.

I would strongly advise against relying on public defenders that are provided from Cowlitz County Public Defense If I could rate this experience, it would be zero stars my record will forever be tarnished from the incompetence of an attorney provided to me that could’ve very easily won the case if he wanted to put in even minimal effort. For years, I’ve looked into everything all possibilities what he could’ve done to help me and I just get more and more disgusted. The judges in the Cowlitz County court system are ridiculous enough but then to be stuck with attorneys like this you’re basically SOL.

I truly hope that nobody gets in trouble in Longview and doesn't have the means to pay for their own attorney because Longview Public Defense is a real piece of s*** I'm supposed to be getting assigned to a new attorney and I've called back once a week for multiple weeks and still nothing.

Well, ya get what you pay for. Don't expect a public defender to work miracles or bend over backwards to help you. If you want to stay out of trouble don't do crimes. Or if ya do. Have enough momey for a decent attorney. (I know, if ya had that kind of money you wouldn't NEED to do crimes in the first place. (Now you're getting it)

I’d give zero stars if that was possible. This public attorney’s office has completely lazy, unreliable, disorganized, and unwilling “professionals” who don’t care that you’re human just like them.
