As someone who struggles to feel safe as a queer woman in certain rural areas, I was very grateful to find Kateen and her farm. Kateen was always open to having tough conversations and came to the table with empathy and understanding. I was welcomed with open arms and open hearts. I truly can't thank this establishment and its owner enough and I hope any future guests considering to learn or stay here, decide to do so in order to experience its beauty and inclusivity. Compass Rose Farms and the PDC has been an absolutely life changing and inspiring experience that I will forever be grateful for.

This place does not practice inclusivity. I've never seen a business that has patrons victim blaming POC for reporting their experiences just because they aren't using their reviews to instigate drama. This isn't drama, if you are a TERF or light skinned LGB member you will most likely have a lovely time here. If you are LGBT however, and you care about your Trans or POC friends at all, supporting this place would be harmful. The fact is over the course of one summer most of us carry on terrible stories from this school. And the reason no one can share their experiences here is that Google itself would be forced to censor any quotes from the teacher as they contain ideologies and dehumanizing opinions that are not professional and do not follow Google guidelines. This place is run like a plantation and I wish you luck if you choose to attend, it's better to make an informed decision, a lot of my class was actually scared to come forward due to fear of harrassment. Compass Rose Farms is an amazing magical place. Kateen is a very thorough teacher dedicated to the permaculture life. I'm not sure what kind of a grudge the negative reviewers have with CRF, but since they didn't get specific about what their complaints actually were, I'd take them with a grain of salt.
