I recently had the opportunity to visit Citarella CT as part of the team, and I must say that I will definitely be returning as a customer. The space is impeccably maintained, and the staff goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service in every aspect.

During my visit, I indulged in the fresh brick oven pizza and the quality was nothing short of spectacular.

If you’re looking for a place that combines outstanding food with a welcoming atmosphere, look no further than Citarella CT. I can't wait for my next visit!

Beware of the soup at the self serve station. I thought it was a big piece of pepper or carrot but I was surprised to see a gigantic piece of plastic in my lentil soup. I used to get this at least twice a week for my pregnancy cravings, so disgusted and disappointed. Also the meat there is not fresh (brown and smelly) we no longer purchase meat there anymore sadly.

I love this place! I live in the New Haven area and travel to Greenwich just to shop here. Their seafood department is amazing, and the aged steaks from the butcher are first class! Add the gourmet cheese and vibrant produce and any foodie is in heaven. The staff is not only friendly and helpful, but they really know their stuff and are quick to offer help.

Great place for special items. Everything high quality but more expensive than local supermarket but only place to get items like Dufour puff pastry. Great crab dip, smoked salmon, variety of cheese, prepared foods.

I've been shopping at a Citarella for about 30 years now, first when I lived in the city 20 years ago and now in Greenwich. I was glad to see it come to our town and looking forward to their high quality foods. I was actually surprised after 10 years of not shopping there that so little of their prepared dishes have not changed! I was hoping for some new recipes. There are def pros & cons to this place. First the pros: Gorgeous fresh flowers and stunning floral arrangements! Produce is very fresh, great selection, and offer organic options (although would really love to see more organics). Incredible meat & fish departments, really top notch, the guys behind the counter are super & very knowledgeable, always eager to answer my questions about the sources, quality, etc. Nice selection of prepared cold foods. Great cheese & dessert departments. My son absolutely loves their creme brûlée and my favorite is the chocolate black out cake I always get for family birthdays. Strong salad bar & delicious pizzas. I always find the sales people super nice and helpful. They have a nice room to eat in and roomy, clean bathrooms. Cons: the parking is the WORST! The lot is so tight, people don't pull in all the way and you get stuck trying to get out, I once almost got assaulted by a crazy woman yelling at me to stop blocking the lot but she didn't see I couldn't get past the idiot who didn't pull up all the way. I avoid peak hours as much as possible. It is crazy expensive. I avoid buying staples like milk & basic groceries there. Although the cold prepared foods is very tasty & fresh, I'm definitely tired of the same stuff, they need to revamp and get some new recipes. And some items have questionable ingredients so need to read the labels. Also, no organic options offered. I find the hot bar really unappealing, the food always looks like completely over cooked mush and I don't like the unhealthy options offered. Smoothie bar has very limited hours, is always closed then I'm there. Coffee is average and hard to get oat milk for it, I have ask a salesperson to find it in a random fridge, and sometimes they don't have it at all. All in all, I'm a frequent customer and appreciate the good things they do offer and seeing the lovely sales people who make shopping there a very nice experience.

Sorry to say alot of their precooked, take out foods are very over cooked! Some very spicy, peppery! $ = very over priced for quality! I do not mind spending money $$$$ but quality does not match it! Waiting for DiCicco's to open will take business there, I have experience with them from Harrison, Armonk!

Truly one of the nicest grocery stores I have ever had the pleasure of shopping at! The breads, desserts, sushi section, and meats are all wonderful. I would highly recommend the butter pecan cookies--they are probably my most favorite food! I was also very impressed with the sushi section...it was fresh and delicious. The prices are definitely a bit steep, so it is more of a treat to shop here (and less of a place for your everyday groceries....toilet paper, cheerios, etc.); it compares well with Whole Foods. However, if you are looking for something in particular, they are well staffed and stocked! I would highly recommend checking Citarellas out for some delicious finds!

Don’t usually give out bad reviews but feel this one was necessary. I bought two Swordfish steaks from here and when I got home and started preparing the fish to cook it, I noticed a lot of little holes in the steaks. I saw some stuff poking out of the holes and ended up discovering both swordfish steaks were riddled with parasites as well as sashi, which is pus pockets formed from parasitic infestation. Immediately lost my appetite. I’m aware that it’s common for fish to have worms but for paying over $45 bucks for two filets, I expect some better quality control happening behind the scenes…I immediately went back to the store to return the two filets and was only issued a store credit. Probably won’t ever be going back to this store or, at the very least, never buying fish from there again.
