This company is under new ownership and they are THE best! They have been so helpful to me during a really stressful time. The first time I called I found Josh to be extremely helpful and honest about my situation. From there the front desk woman Tara welcomed me with a smile and explained exactly how everything would work. Then to top it off, Steve, who was my process server, stayed in touch with me throughout the whole process letting me know exactly when he was done with serving. This company has seriously been the brightest light during a dark time and I am forever grateful to them. I would absolutely use them again!

My experience in the review below was before the new ownership took place. Steve Glenn, the new owner of Checkmate Inc., personally reached out to me about my experience. He spent his own time researching my claims and put me in touch with people to try to make it right. He really stepped up and tried to do the right thing. Unfortunately the old owners dropped the ball so my experience with Checkmate Inc was still pretty terrible. However, I would absolutely trust this company moving forward as Steve has proven to care what is right and has done everything he can possibly do to rectify the wrongdoing by the previous owners. Please don't hesitate to use this company based on my review and past negative reviews as they were probably all affiliated with the old ownership.**

This company lies about who they serve! When I called to speak with them about the matter they refused to speak with me or provide any sort of proof that they served who they claimed they did. They would only state that I was not their client and would need to hire an attorney. An attorney should not have to be hired for proof of service. Based on my experience I would believe this company lies about who they serve in order to collect payment from their clients. Clients should be aware of these tactics. Absolute scum in my opinion.

After a failed attempt to have someone served using the Sheriff Dept, I contacted Steve at Checkmate, Inc. Being in Los Angeles and needing to have someone served in Denver was a very stressful proposition. Steve provided great service, communicated with me often and worked with me to get the job done at the most fair price. He guaranteed he would get it done, and he DID! Thanks again Steve, to you and your team for your professionalism, effectiveness and top-notch customer service.

Steven returned my call within 24 hours and was able and willing to help me with my issue at hand. Within a day, he had found the person I needed found. He sent me the information right away, with address and pictures. I will not hesitate to use Steven Glenn and his company again in the future if the need arises. I placed an order for a process server on Tuesday of last week. I had to call back for email confirmation, which should have been my first red flag. I was told that someone would take care of my job on Thursday or Friday because they were busy. I understood and said taking care of the job by Friday was fine. However, on Friday afternoon, I hadn't heard any updates about my job. I called to get an update and spoke to Mike. He assured me that someone would take care of the job after we got off the phone. At that point, no one had left to deliver the document. That was around 4 pm. At 5:30 pm, I checked my email showing the job was completed. I also did not receive the promised email indicating that the job was done until this morning. I left a voicemail on Saturday requesting confirmation, because I made it clear to Mike that I needed my job completed on time. Today, Monday, I received the sarcastic, angry, misspelled email below from Josh, one of the owners. I cannot recommend them with this kind of disappointing lack of professionalism.

Life savers! I could not have been more of a pain as a customer, I called at 10am needing papers served no later than 1:00 that same day, plus I needed this done in Fort Collins AND I didn’t even have the paperwork filed and ready until after noon. Steve got up to Ft Collins right away and managed to pick up and serve the paperwork right on time! Also, Tara in the office was amazing dealing with my annoying calls. Checkmate made the impossible happen and I’m so impressed and grateful!

Steve and his whole team were FANTASTIC to work with! They were all quick to respond to my inquiries and info-updating, and very good at keeping me informed of what was going on. Steve went above and beyond with my case, which I greatly appreciated. Definitely hire them, they'll do right by you!
