Places like this are a throwback to the golden age when stuff was done right . The checkout was on the honor system , we could see the farmer was out in the field tending to the heard .. this place was a little bit of magic . We picked up some raw milk and honey.

You never know what you’re going get @ Calf & Clover, in the best of all ways. An ever evolving product offering, it changes with the seasons and also grows and evolves with various contributors. Anchored by a backbone of incredible dairy products (raw, homogenized milk, yogurt, ricotta) that are staples with seasonal touches of fresh produce, local maple syrup, other artisanal items from teas to soaps, even kombucha too! I’d love to see these products continue to flourish. We support whenever we’re up in the area!

Their Raw Milk tastes incredible. I like to use theirs especially because they keep the mother and calf together. This is unprecedented in America. I much prefer A2 milk, and I really hope they test one day. So right now I'm just sort of hoping that their milk is mostly A2 since the cows they have *tend to be genetically A2. Though, again, they have never confirmed this through testing. (Please test!!!) I also purchase from Miller Farm which is A2/A2. But, they don't keep the mother and calf together. I urged them to, and I told them about Calf & Clover. They were shocked and didn't believe it was possible to do. In any case, I love Calf & Clover's milk and hope to purchase their butter one day as I don't like the taste of Miller Farms butter. I don't have a problem with C&C prices. This is ***high quality raw milk from a small farm that cares and doesn't abuse their cows and calfs and doesn't separate them***. I think anyone complaining about prices really just doesn't understand. If you want highly nutritious food and care about where you source it and how animals are treated then you can make it work somehow.

Just okay... if you happen to like fresh milk, yogurt, ricotta, and honey, and perhaps a few other sundries here and there (e.g., a small block of pricey, just-mild cheddar). Prices are definitely a bit higher than average as far as local dairies go.

Like far too many dairies in the area, they ride on the hype-train of "raw milk" and its ostensible superiority over pasteurized milk, and use this to their advantage in order to charge more. But hey… embellishment sells, I guess.

Yes, the milk is fresher than store-bought, but at the end of the day, I'm not a calf, nor an 8-year-old: I don't want to guzzle milk. I don't like yogurt. I'm an adult and I only eat concentrated dairy products, in moderation, in the form of quality butter (& cream) and eclectic cheeses, and this is just one of many local dairy farms here in CT sorely lacking in either.

For as copiously as cattle produce milk, charging what they do for such a baseline product isn't acceptable, IMO. And yes, I am certainly more than willing to pay more for better quality when it comes to the dairy products I do enjoy... within reason... nothing hits the mark here for me.

(Addendum: I observed that they were selling butter for a limited time, once. They refused to respond to my inquiry re: if it's still available.)

I’m not exactly a creamery connoisseur but I know heart when I see it and the delightful family that runs this decorously darling dairy have heaps of it. A dash of their delectable dairy dutifully ameliorates any doleful dish with decisive duplicitousness. In other words it’s so damn good it will improve any dish it touches. . Get some. Do it quickly. Repeat.

Simply put, it's magic milk. Best fresh r a w milk around. 100% worth your drive out to the farm. Of the 3 r a w milk vendors i've had locally, This is the best taste, and highest cream content. If you or someone you love has digestion issues, r a w and living foods will be benificial to thier gut. give it a try. It's available at Bantam market and New Morning first come first serve. Also by order and delivered to Jimmies in Torrington every Tuesday. God bless
