Unbelievably POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We had a tech come out in December who determined our mini split compressor was bad. A new one was ordered from the manufacturer, who sent it to Cal Steel. When it arrived at Cal Steel, Ivy rejected the shipment because it had my name on it. One would think that an HVAC product arriving at a company that does HVAC might just be in the right place, and that maybe one should ask around about a potential customer with that name rather than just rejecting the shipment. When I called this morning for the fourth or fifth time asking about it, I spoke with Ivy. Nobody ever knew anything about it over the last four months and always said someone would call back-- THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. She tried that again, but I insisted that she look up my name for any information on our order. Only then did she remember the rejected shipment. She was unhelpful and short with me. After calling Pioneer directly, I found out that Cal Steel didn't even try to remedy the situation until mid-March...reordering the compressor three months and multiple calls after it was rejected for simply having the customer's name on the box.
I'm now searching around for a reliable and professional installer. Once I receive my product, I will update this review with a recommendation. I've lost all confidence in Cal Steel.

Follow-up response: I'm not surprised that you are "blindsided." We called multiple times over the last four months, and nobody ever bothered to look into it or get back to us. Had you given me the courtesy to explain what happened or (what a concept!) perhaps apologize rather than get short with me, I would not have felt compelled to write the review. I am dealing with the issue myself and will find a qualified installer. The part will not be shipped to Cal Steel. Thank you for your time and attention...finally.

Joe at Cal Steel is a true artist welder. I had a special job to custom fit some carbide runners on my snowmobile and he was 100% in to take the challenge. Excellent attitude and super professional! Couldn't give a higher recommendation!!

Eddie did an emergency on a water/sewer cover someone had stolen at our commercial building.
It was immediately completed and very fair pricing.

I've been coming in to Cal since they opened, and the guys have always been nice, I've just grown tired of Ivy being entirely surly up at the front counter for absolutely no reason whatever. I try and be as nice as possible to her and have spent thousands there over the years. Doesn't matter, she's always surly, never even says thank you, acts annoyed you're even in the room. Sell the place to someone who wants to be there please or find someone else with people skills to be the face of the business. Sadly today was the last time I'm giving them my money, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Too bad because the guys back the shop are always great.

So I called and ask them if they were hiring and the guy that answered the phone was so rude. When I asked if he was hiring. Then he hung up on me. I'm glad I found out how ignorant they are . I would never do business with u guys. I will let people know how u guys work and believe me I know a lot of people. Word of mouth travels faster then anything else

Buyer Beware..!IF you live in a remote area and take the time to call and get an (updated price) on what you need at 3:30 in the afternoon and explain to them your sixty mile away and will be there in the morning when they open... you'll get RIPPED OFF every time by the alleged woman behind the counter. and the way they'll set you up is when you call she'll transfer you to that particular department,you'll get a price from "Brian"or one of the other guys and by the time you go to pay the alleged woman behind the counter will rack up the price an additional 40.00 dollars knowing i drove all morning to get the material i need.
she's done this to me several times and usually has gotten away with it, however no more A company just outside of South fork is priced enough to pay for the fuel to go in that direction. besides that the drive that way is much much more nicer and there is no..! I REPEAT "NO TRAFFIC TO DEAL WITH. YOU GET FIVE STARS ALRIGHT but not for your honesty but your very crafty system of thievery. ITS NOT BAD ENOUGH YOUR PRICES ARE ALREADY INFLATED BUT THEN YOU DO MISDEEDS LIKE THIS.
