The view from up here is absolutely breathtaking, offering panoramic sights of Avalon Bay, the sparkling blue waters, and the surrounding hills. It’s a bit of a hike to reach the top, but the effort is totally worth it—once you’re there, you’re rewarded with one of the most stunning vistas on Catalina Island.

It’s an ideal spot for photos, especially at sunrise or sunset when the light makes the entire landscape glow.

Very beautiful overlook, but it is very hard to walk up unless you want to walk up a steep side of the road in dirt, at the dangerously at the edge of the mountain. It is only a 30 minute walk if you're quite fit and you're hurrying up there. Reccomend doing a Catalina tour of Avalon or renting a golf cart to get up there. The Catalina tour of Avalon drives and stops you at this overlook, the ocean scenic overlook, and the Chimes tower. Much more worth the money.

Beautiful lookout point for iconic views of Avalon bay and the casino. There is a small walking path away from the street to get a closer look. Trash cans are provided to keep the area clean. It is a bit of a hike from the shore so prepare comfortable clothes and shoes or take a golf cart up. Keep in mind there not too much space for cart parking.

The iconic and stunning view of Santa Catalina Island!! The view was so beautiful and this is the only reason why I wanted to visit this island, just to see this view. If you’re not visiting this view point, you’re not in Santa Catalina Island yet!!

Went here on the first day of my trip and took some pictures. Walking took me about 23 minutes one way. It's worth it going right before sunset. You'll walk pass a pet cemetery, just an FYI. I recommend heading to this point if you want to get an overview of Avalon.

To be honest this was one of the only highlights of my trip to Catalina Islands. It was a very underwhelming trip as almost everything was closed early so we didn’t have anything to really do on our day trip to the island. They had Coney World with some good cheese fries and like I said these views and that was about it. Couldn’t even rent a golf cart because they were closed so we had to walk all over. It’s a beautiful place though!

Loved this place! Had a nice one day trip to Avalon from 6am to 7pm. I did pretty much most of the activities during that day but this one view specifically was the best one of them all! The air up here at Buena Vista feels so fresh and pure compared to mainland California. I definitely recommend coming here in an electric bike which is what I did.

This scenic overlook requires excessive walking to get to. The best way to access is to rent a golf cart for an hour, which would give you access to this plus many more scenic overlooks. Rental of a golf cart requires a cash deposit of $60 (as of Aug. 2024) so bring some cash with you.
