This place is linked to/related to the Blue Mountain Brewery, but does have some different offerings. This place will also set up 2.5oz samples of every beer they have on tap. In this case it was a flight of 10 and these guys also have a bit of everything so if you can't find a beer you like then you're just being too picky. In this case we also had the 'sweet tea', which is made with Vodka and was really good as they didn't over sweeten it. My wife again picked the Monticello Mountain Ale, but I went for the Long Winters Nap lager. We were there on St. Patricks Day and they had some unique and outstanding specials. We really liked the Irish stew and the 'bomb' made from their Dark Hollow stout with a 2.5 oz glass of Irish cream that we dropped into it (no I didn't make a mess). Of course I cheated and Debbie and I downed the entire drink. These guys also have an outstanding kitchen so come hungry. Finally this place has plenty of indoor seating and is one of the few places that the outdoor seating is even better.

Love the atmosphere here with a huge outdoor seating area. The food is a great deal, especially the pizza. Our 3 little pig pizza had so much meat on it that it lasted us several meals! They also have a great drink selection offering beers to go!

Absolutely beautiful place with spectacular views and an atmosphere of relaxation and beauty and fun. They have a GORGEOUS outside patio area that is very kid and dog friendly with lots of room to run around, play corn hole, and a fireplace. They have a beautiful Love sign that is nestled amongst a field of hops growing with the Blue Ridge mountains in the background.
The beer and taproom is FANTASTIC. My personal favorites include the mountain ale & homework orange- they have something for everyone's taste. The food was good but not exceptional. I recognize that I set a high bar here. I have had the pleasure of many Extraordinarily delicious places in my lifetime and this was a solid 4star out of 5. The burger was good but a little small for the price and my tacos were delicious and worth coming for. The collard greens were nontraditional with a spicy tomato sauce that was OK but not expected. Would be great with some cornbread.
I will definitely be coming back and look forward to trying new items each time.

Great beer. Good service. Bad pizza. The crusts are hard and dry. Frozen? BBQ meat is OK in moderation, but it was just too smokey. Some marinara sauce might help. The plain cheese was the least bad.

Great place after a long hike at Crabtree falls!! Very clean, staff was friendly and attentive, food was very good. Had the Thai Chili Pizza .. delicious!!

Local spot where one can always find a tasty brew! Not to mention, the atmosphere is totally complimented by the panoramic Blue Ridge Mountains view of Mount Pleasant and The Priest. You can enjoy live music and tasty grub while you enjoy the outdoor patio and there's even a firepit for those colder months. Of course, it's summertime so just a little food for thought. 🙂 All and all you can't ever go wrong with anything you get from the Barrel House. Safe travels and Cheers!!!

Pet friendly, good food and brews. Also have a wine and cider list which is nice, The Rachael Sandwich with smoked turkey is really good. For cooler evenings the Dark Hollow draft is a good touch. Sat on the patio and listen to live music on a Friday. The staff was friendly and the service was good.

I came here with my parents for lunch. Great outdoor seating and beautiful mountain views. The service was great and quick. Food was just as good.

We each had a choose your own beer flight and loved all the choices. My favorite was the raspberries on acid, a good sour beer.
