Absolutely loved this place! If you love old cabins like back in the pioneer days you definitely need to see this place! They’re all together in a grassy field they have blountsville’s first jail, post office,a beautiful little chapel, a barn, they also have a sign with a map on it that says Bear Meat Cabin Road. bear meat cabin is what Blountsville was first called. Bear Meat was the name of an Indian and that was the road the settlers traveled down before Alabama was a state

Visited today. Very impressive collection of log cabins and other early frontier buildings with displays of period tools, furniture, and household goods. Really puts the time period in perspective. The host on duty ( Mark) was very knowledgeable and more than willing to tour the buildings with me and share the history of the area. Cannot thank the folks that have created this park enough. Close to other area attractions in the area such as covered bridges, water falls , and even a water park. Great location for a family gathering or just a picnic..

It looks like a good place for an informal wedding or family reunion, but the memorial erected by Sons of the Confederacy was disconcerting.

We really enjoyed our visit. We learned a lot and look forward to the Daffodil Festival in a few weeks. The lady that works there was very nice. She gave us a tour and told us about the history of the people and buildings.

Beautiful and peaceful environment for outings and the like. Our yearly covered dish family reunions are held under the covered pavillion. Those that choose to do so can take a self tour of the various bldgs of years gone by.

Beautifully maintained, great for photography, plenty of shade and seating, nice paved pavillion area, and large elevated field for parking. Seems like a nice place for a family picnic.
