Best-In-Glass Dog Doors -

Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience with Best-in-Glass Dog Doors.

As we all know, things can go wrong with any purchase, that's understandable! The true mark of any service provider is how they deal with, and solve those concerns on a transaction that is less than ideal.

We purchased a dog door from B-i-G spring 2023. We have a moderate home and when I make home improvements, I always try to get the very best I can afford. I got three estimates for our door, Best-in-Glass was the most expensive, coming in @ $300 more than #2. Owner John Webb assured me that the quality and service would be stellar and (because I wanted the very best) I decided to move ahead.

Immediately after installation (I wasn't home, my wife was there for the installation) I noticed a few problems.

1) Open space at both the top right and left corners, big enough for a bug/fly to get through and certainly big enough to let in cold air during the winter months.

2) Sloppy installation leaving the rubber "gasket" (between the dog door and the door frame) burped out and not properly tucked into place.

I have contacted John multiple times (always friendly and respectful) asking if he could at least come out and inspect his installers work (I feel we are owed at least that) and for the past six months those requests have either been ignored, not responded to, or not followed up on.

I guess I just believe we, and every other potential consumer out there, deserves a better customer service experience than that.

As a home automation nerd, it was very important to me that my dog door for my new puppy be a smart door with a proximity collar. None of the home improvement stores had doors to suit my needs. I was very lucky to be recommended best-in-glass by an employee at one of the big box stores.

Security was one of my concerns as our backyard faces an open space, so they installed super tough glass both in the door and the dog door--no flaps here.

We ordered some extra supplies from the smart dog door company and they missed them. It was very nice to have John as our liason, who worked with the company directly to assure we had everything we ordered before making our final payment.

I highly recommend best-in-glass for a custom dog door solution. They delivered exactly what we needed.

Best-In-Glass did a great job installing a dog door in our sliding glass door. They got it done quickly and it looks great. Saves my wife and I a lot of time not having to let the dogs in or out.

Dog door was installed about a month ago and it's been amazing! We've had some really strong winds in our area lately and it's held strong. I got pretty lucky on timing because they said it could take 6 weeks due to supply chain issues but got installed 3 weeks from the day it was ordered!

Best product I have ever purchased for my dogs. These are definitely better than any insert door you can buy.
The instalation went smooth and the installer was very professional.
My dogs got used to going in and out relatively quickly.

The customer experience was rather poor, our wait was very, very long (5 months!), and it seems their suppliers have an issue with quality control. However, I will say that the dog door is great and our dogs are enjoying it immensely. Would I recommend others order from this company? Yes, but I'd warn that it's likely your wait may be quite significant depending on their attention to detail (they sent the wrong dimensions the first time around) and supplier's quality.
