Overpriced because the company is now increasing rent and maintenance takes months to do simple jobs such as fixing toilets and heating, I would not recommend moving in here especially for military the houses aren't worth losing full bah, if you move out in town even with electric and water bills you'll have money left over you'll be able to keep. 2/10 would not recommend.

As returning 3rd year residents in good standing, I am saddened to report that there is no benefit to staying multiple years in this place as I have had staying in several other apartment complexes in this area. When Rent increases for new residents, rent increases by that same % for you, too. They know they're going to get the money from you or the new resident, so they know they're going to win either way. Rent in 2022 was raised only 5%, rent in 2023 was raised 10%, and rent in 2024 was raised by 20%. When we emailed that this was an unreasonable inflation to keep up with, we got the response "In CT there is no cap of percentage, The fair market rate for a 3 bedroom in Conning Towers is 2,695.00, anyone new moving in is paying that rate. On our site it does state 2,695.00. I can not say if it will go up or down or stay the same next year, they notify us the day it changes which is why any new incoming residents we have to disclose the price is subject to change at any time."

UPDATE: A month later and I have answers. The ladies at the front desk of all leasing offices have been the most lovely and helpful in moving us through the leasing process - even understanding when we missed some important emails from them. While you may not have the best luck reaching someone via phone (they have meetings all day it seems) there's normally someone by the front desk in person. I'm happy to report that we were able to negotiate a much more reasonable rent increase. Honestly I never had anything bad to say and I've got nothing bad to say about Beacon Point. I would recommend them to my friends in a heartbeat. Oh and by the way the email in their response to me bounced back.

The office staff is rude and doesn’t answer half the time. Takes over 45 days for a part to come in. However, if you involve the navy it magically appears. The part will be wrong, but they will say it’s in. Paperwork is sent multiple times, but no one ever knows what happens to it. I wouldn’t live here again. Always involve the navy!

If I could give less stars, I would. We’ve lived here for almost 2 years, and have recently moved into a bigger home owned by them. The moving process was horrible, and they tried to get us to pay a cleaning fee even though we CLEANED THE PREVIOUS HOME. I had to go over their heads to the navy housing for anything to happen. Once we moved into the new home, it was filthy. Crud was left behind by the previous tenants even though they swore up and down that the new unit was cleaned by a professional team. Just look at the attached photos, does this place look clean to you? There were broken blinds, loose light fixtures, loose plumbing, and blown out lightbulbs that were supposed to be replaced before we moved in. The maintenance takes forever. We had a leak so bad in our ceiling that it pretty much caved in. It took them OVER A MONTH to remedy it, and we even had to move out of the home temporarily at one point. If this is how this company treats active duty service members and their families I can only imagine how they treat civilians. No wonder they’re in a lawsuit. If I had a choice, I would live anywhere else!!!!

Recently moved in. Worst privatized housing I've ever lived in. Horrible communication, disgusting property, littered yard, downgrade from previous home in NC, small rooms, dirty garage and storage rooms. Seems as of previous tenant did nothing to clean before moving out and housing office neglected it as well. Half the floor heaters work, fridge doesn't seal shut, paint on floors, shower flooding. All things that could've been fixed and cleaned prior to moving us in. Not recommended. We live in the conning towers neighborhood.

Update: 8/19/2024.
Still the worst housing ever. Want your laundry And shower to smell highly of sulphur then just move into Conning Towers .
I've complained about this issue several times And nothing has been done. We can't move into a different home by them because of our contract with our current home even though it's the same company.

Several times I have made attempts to contact the main Leasing office. After we got keys to our home, not ONCE in the 3 years we've lived here has the main Leasing office answered the phones when I've called. Always to voicemail. Which I found out, isn't an actual voicemail and instead is converted to an email which is sent to the offices for them to reply at their leasure. I have not to date received a call back within 2 business days of my first call.

I like and would recommend living here. It's super windy outside right now, but my house is holding up like a champ—no chilly drafts to be found. The community events put on by the housing office, with giveaways throughout the year, are a nice touch. Maintenance has always been reliable for us; no waiting around forever for fixes. Overall, it's a good spot. Wish they had a working gym, and I think, rent is a tad high, but not outrageously so.

We toured the home they wanted to place us in....let me tell you this place had so many issues. The main issue I had were the burnt countertops and leaky faucets/mold. Now, I am not new to renting and understand previous tenants may have caused whatever issues but my biggest red flag about this place was that the housing agent tried to brush off all the issues going on. When I flat out asked will this be fixed before moving in, she said no it will not which was an absolute shock to me.. So these people want us to pay a premium to live in these run down shabby apartments?
Now, they also had newer apartments, and when we told them we do not accept this one and would like to wait for another one to open up preferably the newer ones the housing person literally got so upset. Why are you upset? You should really treat your customers with a little respect and understand how unacceptable it is to force people pcsing with families into your aweful apartments that you have no intention of renovating or fixing it should be a crime to do that to people. There were other things that I found inappropriate, like for instance when the person found out we rejected their unlivable home and asked to wait for another opening they went into our accounts to figure out where we were staying and tried to have our friend evicted because he did not tell the housing we were staying with him until we sorted our living situation. We were only there a week or so at that point, and it was just so unbelievable the lengths they went to try to harm people they didn't even know!! Why? Because we didn't want to live in an unsafe home Like I said if other tenants damaged everything I understand but for you to refuse to fix it and make people live in that is wrong. This place just left such a bad taste in my mouth. Their practices are shady the people seem eager to screw anyone they can. We literally were desperate to just sign and move in and if they had just shown us a normal home with no serious issues or even told us they would fix those issues we would have moved in, but wow these people made it so easy to just walk away.. Tbh I should thank the lady for being honest and telling us straight up that they would not be fixing anything.. In the end, no eviction occurred, they were in the wrong, we ended up buying a house instead. My advice, take your bah/money somewhere else. Seriously, anywhere else would be better than dealing with people who do not care about you or your family and your well-being. You are just a paycheck to them. Look at all the other posts where people complain about so many other things including that the maintenance people never fix anything or do anything. Someone should run an internal investigation on these people. I was pregnant and had a 1 yr old at the time all this happened and it seriously infuriated me that they did not even want to take the steps to fix the apartment to make it safer and literally wanted our family to just live with it Wow. And on top of all that went out of their way to find out with whom we were staying and tried to do all that malicious stuff I really just have no more words for these people. I hope some found this useful, I hope my experience never happens to anyone else, and you find a happy home somewhere safe and far away from this aweful housing company.
