Since I’ve already reviewed Ocean State Off Road, I’m going to write here about Barrette as some fabrication needs were addressed during my Ocean State visit. It isn’t a stretch for me to say that this is hands-down one of the best off-road shops in the country. First of all, everybody here is a passionate off-roader and has decades of experience, the owner is someone who is deeply involved in the New England wheelin’ community and has personal experience in all manner of hands on applications in the shop. This means that unlike most shop owners or managers, advisors, he can actually lead a team with knowledge as an active master builder and fabricator.
The wait to get an appointment wasn’t too long, just 2 to 3 weeks, and the suspension specialist was able to get in the vehicle with me and take the time to figure out a very strange noise, with a lot of trial and error. Lo and behold, one of the most respected shops in Arizona, which will go unnamed in this post… Really poorly installed the body mount chop, cutting off a little bit too much metal and welding a plate too close to my body mount, causing the body mount to rub every time the chassis flexed a little bit creating a horrible squeak and on more severe impacts a very present thunk through the floor. This is a problem that I have not been able to resolve on my own or with any other shop looking at this truck.
I don’t believe that I would’ve been able to get a resolution, allowing the fabrication specialist to bend back the metal to the correct shape and route out a proper clearance around the body mount, anywhere else.
These folks did not try to sell me suspension parts or bill me for six hours of labor, this was the most reasonable, thorough, honest work that I have ever experienced. I wouldn’t trust taking my truck anywhere else.
While these folks specialize in Jeeps, they have also started specializing in the Toyota products in the past decade from what I understand and it really shows. I have an Icon stage 7 suspension with some unique issues, they took the time to research the nuances of this suspension and find out why certain components were not functioning as they should be, identifying a very dangerous failure in a rear track bar that otherwise could’ve easily been missed. Instead of charging for an alignment repair that needs to happen first before wasting money on that one and also took great care in balancing my tires better than any other shop with their new Hunter Road force system. I can’t stress enough how good it is to have somebody that you can leave your truck with and trust, especially if you’re someone that works on your rig and really cares about how things are done

Ricky Barrette & Cody Hyphen James At Barrette Fabrication in RI did a fantastic job. They really brought this JK to the next level. The service and attention to detail is excellent and it shows. The only thing that wasn’t touched was the transmission! I love how my Jeep looks and drives. They installed a Dynatrac 44/60 - suspension, custom drive shafts, arb lockers, skid plates, engine work, exhaust, 4:1 transfer case and HD steering.

I can't say enough about the guys at Barrette fabrication. Both tasks we gave them were crazy broken parts and welds on our tree grapple. These guys not only fixed the problem but made sure it won't happen again. Thanks again guys.

My rating is only based on the customer service I received for a repair quote, which was excellent. It is not often you find service with such a great attitude. I went to Barrette Fab for a quote on repairing a rusty Tacoma Frame that was out of warranty. Josh was professional and excellent to work with. The quote was emailed to me only a couple hours later followed up by a phone call from Josh ensuring I received it and asking if I had any questions. The only reason I have decided at the moment not to follow through with the repair is based on the age, mileage and condition of the truck, it might make more sense for me to move on an sell the truck. If their work is as good as their customer service, I will certainly consider Barrette Fab for future work and recommend them to others.

I cannot say enough great things about Barrette Fabrication. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years and I will continue to give them my service. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs any maintenance/upgrades to their Jeeps or even just an alignment or undercoating done on their vehicle. Ricky and Fred were kind enough to come in early to help me with my appointment because I had a last minute conflict in my schedule. It is difficult to come by such excellent customer service in today’s world, but I promise you will not be disappointed by the service that they offer their customers.

The team at Barrett Fab always takes care of you. Recently had work on my truck with custom suspension done and they returned it driving amazingly. Would recommend them to all, don’t be afraid of their jeeps.

First experience with Barrette and they were absolutely awesome. I have a lifted tacoma and another shop did a bad alignment that created rubbing on the front fenders that I never had before. They had me in and out in less than two hours and got the alignment specs I requested at a fair price. The owner Ricky and his wife Sarah are super helpful,
friendly and professional as are their staff. I highly recommend this shop for alignments and from what I saw at the shop they are the place to go in RI for any lift kit installs, aftermarket modifications, and accessories to your truck or jeep. Highly recommend!

Recently, I brought my brother's older Jeep Cherokee here for an inspection and estimate to repair some rot I found on the frame and chassis. One of the gas tank supports was severely rotted, as well as the rear frame rails. I did not know that they do rust repair, until I was referred here.

The owner, Ricky Barrette, was very sympathetic and respectful to my younger brother, who actually owns the Jeep. My brother had a stroke and cannot speak, so I dealt with Rick on my brother's behalf.

Within a couple days of dropping off the Jeep at the shop, Rick had a very detailed estimate ready, complete with photos, and took time out of his very hectic day to review the estimate with me in person. The inspection was so thorough that he and his welder, Josh, discovered some other areas of rot that I had missed when I had my brother's Jeep up on a lift a couple week earlier (and I thought I was thorough).

Bottom line, the Jeep would have needed a lot of rust repair, which would involve dropping the gas tank and removing carpeting. The estimate was fair and reasonable, considering the large amount of work that would be involved. After discussing it between my mom, brother and I, we decided that the Jeep was not worth repairing, and will sell it for parts.

Although we didn't have any work done by Barrette, I was highly impressed by the level of thoroughness and professionalism. I am a tradesperson and have done estimates myself for fairly complex repair projects on peoples' homes, and I believe that someone who takes the time to be so thorough on an estimate, will also be as thorough on the actual work.
