I needed some stainless steel rails for a sailboat dodger at a busy time of the year, and apparently the job was not interesting enough for other “well-known” Seattle fabricators. However, Matt was very responsive, knowledgeable, and provided great advice for improving my project. He was 100% honest with the price and realistic with the delivery date. He worked with me on a solution for picking up and delivering. I cannot be more satisfied with the quality of the job, and every time I look at the dodger I am thankful for having worked with Ballard Marine Fabricators. I will be a returning customer for sure.

I called Ballard Marine Fabricators describing damage to a major structural component. They asked for me to text them photos, which I did right away. Immediately, they gave me a straightforward evaluation of its importance along with their honest confidence level of that evaluation. They offered to fix it same-day. I brought them the part and, sure enough, they fixed it the same day I brought it in. Had a great discussion about repair strategies while in remote places. Everybody I interacted with was friendly and to the point. Overall, I got great communication, prompt service, and the vibe that they were forthright. Price was totally fair too. I will be going back there as the need arises.

Update: The weld repair failed a little over a year later. It looks like the aluminum they welded into the piece just eventually popped out. The process of uninstalling and installing is non-trivial, and this piece is a major structural component, so I'm just going to have the factory send me a new replacement, rather than chance another repair failure.

I'm not one to write a review but this place was able to exceed my expectations. They charged $90/hr whereas the nearest competitor charges $150/hr and they completed the job in half the time of the competitor's estimate. When you call them you don't get directed to some annoying directory like some other places do aswell. They also had my welding project done by the end of the next day!

Hope they get the business they deserve.
