UPDATE: Tried to again at 5:30 pm and it was also closed. It’s really a gamble…

I enjoy the assortment of local produce offered by Arisco Farm, especially their garlic and corn, but it really bothers me when a business says they are open until 6:00 pm, and you pull in at 5:55 pm to grab some produce quick for dinner (literally in and out) and they already have their “closed” signs up. I’m always in the mindset you should stay a few more minutes for the customers who just got off work than close your doors early. I don’t feel I can rely on the time, so I end up going to Maple Leaf which is just down the road, they are always open until the time they say they are.

My family and I visited Ariscos Farms in Cheshire, CT today (7-1-23) and I have to write how impressive the entire operation is. As of June, 2023 the farm and it's store is under new ownership ( and management) and the experience was excellent. The physical facility is well organized, the inventory of products (mostly local) is extensive and quite fresh, and the staff is welcoming, extremely pleasant, and knowledgeable about the store's offerings. I've been self employed in a healthcare practice over forty years, and I can say confidently that a quality staff is the key to any service business, and the representatives of this organization are absolutely stellar. Thanks to Greg, Matt and Carolyn for your efficiency, courtesy, and attentiveness.
I foresee a very successful future for this venture, and I recommend everyone to visit this farm and savor the array of local products while taking the opportunity to support a community based business.
These endeavors are the backbone of our economy and those (like this one) that strive for such excellence more than merit our support. Visit them and see for yourself !!!!

I visited this farm. I recommend you do not go a second time. After trying to explain I’m of age to go into the farm, the blond lady said I have too much of a baby face to even be considered to be let in. The woman let people my age in without any complaining they are too young…Very rude to my parents and completely dismissed everything we said. 😐 Go to a different farm, save yourself the stress of rude people. Have a nice day!

Shout out to great customer service when my regular farm didn’t fill my order, they came through with 6 boxes of cherry peppers at the last second. You have a repeat customer for life!

Let me start by saying that this farm has quality produce albeit very expensive. Great pepper picking. HOWEVER, that is all thrown out the window by the service. One of the owners of the farm literally said "This is America, speak English" to my father while he was talking to my mother in Albanian. Very rude, and xenophobic, if I may add. It was surprising comment considering that a large proportion of the farms's customer base is Eastern Europeans. Are they just asking to go out of business? Moreover, this woman would not allow us to use the hose to clean our hands because "we were wasting her water." This is unacceptable customer service and I hope you take my family's experience into consideration before buying produce here. Never coming here again.

I've had horrible experiences here. The produce is good but the people who run the farm are terrible. It's like they have something against immigrants. If you have an accent you will be treated like someone from a different planet and like a thug. I highly suggest you stay away from this farm and instead visit any other nearby farm where you are treated with respect. The lady who runs the register seems to have problems and is extremely rude for no reason.

Very bad attitude very bad service and also, super expensive. For their attitude, The cash register person was so rude they don't seem to want customers, they also cheated me on some produce I bought from them, I asked to have some peppers, which were very expensive and they gave me the wrong ones in purpose, just to get some cash, but I still didn't mind, driving all the way to Cheshire, CT. From New York since I support the farmers. So now I won't recommend friends or family, very poor relationship between the staff and customers. Customers should not be right all the time but they should be treated nice and not be given the wrong produce, I spent 170 dollars for 6 bags of peppers and tomatoes. So now I cannot return back and hike all the way up there driving for at least two hours, and return since my timing and my schedule otherwise they would not be happy to see my face I also wrote them on yelp. Under the name Pashkuale.P since people call me Pashkuale. I hope this review gives you some insight. And deters you from these people.and give someone else your hard earned money to some one with better reputation.i ts sad there isn't one tenth of the star here.
