Honestly if I could I wouldn't give them a single start their service is lousy they keep skipping us we had an appointment since a week ago and we have been sitting here for almost 2 hours and they let a bunch of other people go before us and now I don't even think we are going to be able to deliver the piano to the customer because the service that they have and it's not fair for the customer which is I think they need to change their service or the way they run the lines for the ferry their service is lousy if I could I would get a different type of fairy but I guess they get to do whatever they want since there's no more fairies for cars and trucks or whatever so good luck with this people

Over the phone they insisted that if we arrived an hour and a half early we would be able to make it onto the ferry. We got there early, a different employee from the one on the phone was very unhelpful, we didn’t get on the ferry. We got on the later ferry and it was very, very late. What a terrible ferry.

Currently have a reservation for the 4am ferry and no one is at the toll booth. It's 3:40am and we've been in line for over an hour. Traffic is so backed up.

Why is the tollbooth not open and allowing people to be sorted into lanes?

Reservations are a must for summertime travel to the San Juans. If you’ve done your homework everything is smooth. Everyone I’ve ever interacted with at a WSDOT Ferry booth has been super cool and friendly.

Ensure you arrived early to the toll booth, oftentimes will be four or five cars in front of you so plan for this and ensure you arrive more than 30 minutes prior to ferry, as you don't want to lose your reservation, which will happen if you arrive to the toll booth less than 30 minutes from the time of sailing. Reservations can be obtained either by calling or downloading the WSDOT app. Just Google Washington State ferries to find the WSDOT app. If you have a vehicle that is over 22 ft long and some pickups are longer than 22 ft or you have a vehicle that is taller than 7 ft. 2 in then You absolutely should make a reservation in advance. As there is limited space for these these oversized vehicles.

Staff are friendly. I have even shared the occasional joke with the toll booth operator. It's a good idea to know where you are going, as well as the height, and length of your vehicle. Reservations in the summer are a must and make certain to be there half an hour before your scheduled departure.

Be sure to arrive for your scheduled ferry at the suggested time. They do reservations 1mos, 2 weeks, and day off. Parsing them out to ensure tourists & locals both have some access to the Islands.
Arrived 10 min before our scheduled departure time and did NOT get on.
Arrive 30 min ahead of time to guarantee a spot
