Former employee here!

Super unfortunate experience on my end. Worked here for not that long. Was hired on and super excited! But as soon as I got to the company on my first day I felt an immediate shift that I was not wanted there. I’m a female veteran with a lot of tattoos and I could tell that played a roll as even one of my instructors mentioned to me that on my first day co workers were coming up to this individual and making remarks such as “do you see what she has tattooed on her hand?”, he even tried to tell me after he mentioned it to me that “management doesn’t care, but he could tell I had a story though” then proceeded to ask me if I had a history with drugs or what my history was. Getting to know your coworkers is completely fine but I felt like they assumed the worst about me… which made me feel belittled and devalued as a person because of the way I looked. First time I have EVER dealt with this kinda of issue as well! I let it go because that’s the name of the game when you’re working on this environment cause people will always say stuff, you just gotta push through.

Unfortunately the longer I worked there it didn’t get better. About a week after this incident I was told to walk around and observe from a distance to learn what everyone was doing due to the heavy machinery / safety risks everywhere. I was doing so and then was randomly approached by who I found out was the production manager, who then proceeded to scream at me about being lazy, and yapping my mouth. I was asking questions and watching from a safe distance. I didn’t react with spite / a negative reaction. Instead I calmly but firmly tried to explain what I was doing and was screamed over, continued to be belittled, and overall embarrassed cause I was yelled at for being lazy in-front of the majority of my coworkers that I’ve only been around for maybe a week? I walked away because there was no talking to this person, and as a production manager COMMUNICATION is key. Nothing really was done about this either, I informed my boss and HR rep and they said they’d talk to this individual. I can’t confirm if they did or not and don’t wanna devalue the work they did if they did it cause I couldn’t see it.

I will say on a positive note the entire company was not this way. I did meet a lot of good people while I was there and enjoyed working with. It was just unfortunate that the people who did not like me and made it harder for me to do a job I’ve been doing for 4+ years were all in Management positions and did not like me for whatever reason and took that extra step to make it clear to me.

I will give cero Star review if I could not so sure about this place they called me for a welding test and nothing happened. Nobody was really interesting of what I was doing I miss one full day at my other job for nothing some of the employees came to look at my welding test and they were impressed but the lead or the supervisor didn't really care it has been almost one year since I did that and they have not call me not even to say thank you or to give me a good reason why they didn't hire me who knows what happens really bad experience
