First class service! I've been driving past this shop for years praying I would never have any transmission issues. Well the AWD maintenance required warning came up on my used Toyota AWD Sienna and I decided to check in to see if everything was okay. The manager (Dave) put me at ease by looking up the service history on the vehicle and the previous owner had meticulously serviced the vehicle at the dealership! (1 owner car) I had already bought new pads and rotors and Dave told me he could install them and do an oil change by end of business. I left and doubled back with my Power Stop brake kit and just like he promised the car was coming back from the test drive as my Uber was pulling up. Now the van stops on a dime even at highway speeds. David is one of the old school greats. No b.s. straight shooter! 5 stars earned!!

2014 Cadillac CTS
Not too happy right now! Took my car here the last week of March to have transmission rebuilt, got it backed April 1st and was told it was "running smooth as silk", had to take it back on April 4th since the check engine light came back on and it's having the same issue which was shaking like it's struggling to stay started and then cuts off. I get a call today, Tuesday, April 8th that the car is "running smooth as silk" so I went to pick up the car this evening, started my car and once again it's struggling to stay started and cuts off. At this point I'm pissed, over $5,000 later and the car is still not running like it should. I live in Hampton and I keep having to get a ride to drop off the car and then a ride to pick it up.....very inconvenienced!!!! PLEASE FIX MY CAR PROPERLY AND STOP TELLING ME ITS RIDING "SMOOTH AS SILK" WHEN ITS RUNNING LIKE CRAP AND STILL CUTTING OFF!

After being told by another transmission shop that I needed a new transmission in my 2007 Toyota, I came to AAMCO for a second opinion. I'm so glad I did! They diagnosed it in an hour, ordered the parts and had it repaired the next day. Very reasonable price for the repair and excellent communication throughout the whole process. Honest and trustworthy. Not only didn't I need a new transmission, they told me it was in great shape. I'd give 10 stars if I could!

We paid for a completely rebuilt transmission and they could never get it fixed correctly. I had to bring the car back 5+ times for continued issues, leaks, etc. When we took it to a dealership they identified AAMCO never put the under carriage of the car back together properly and bolts were missing and other lines loose and redirected in areas that they should not have been and it wasn't installed properly. Our transmission is still leaking and they now claim that it is out of warranty and its on us to fix and pay for it when they never solved their own problem after 3 years of continued issues. We are stuck with a leaking transmission that has never stopped leaking since they supposedly rebuilt it.

David Daniel and his crew were honest, quick, and kept me informed about my cars status. I went in just knowing I had to buy a transmission.
When I left the next day after just needing some codes cleared, and some computer stuff redone. I couldn't have been more happy to pay the $120.
They were very fair on pricing.
I didn't even ask for my Veteran Discout.
I would recommend this Aamco to anyone I know that needs repairs.
Thanks again !

Got a $10,500 estimate from Dodge Dealership saying my transmission is stuck in 4th gear and needs replacement. Paid $199 diagnostics fee and took the van to Aamco in Newport News. Was told that computer was reset and everything was fine, no issues. Asked Aamco to also clean the fuel injectors. Picked up the next day with transmission working and fuel injectors cleaned for $179. Must have spent over $35,000 over the years for my company vehicles at Williamsburg Dodge. Aamco will now get all my business.

January I go to Aamco transmission to have my 1996 Chevy Silverado 2WD transmission rebuilt. This truck is in immaculate shape and condition garage kept for most of its life. They have my truck for a week and half and tell me it’s ready for pick up. Well not even a few days later the transmission fails and leaks. I spend money on a wrecker to have it towed back to Aamco. Pick it up few days later the trans cooler they installed fails and transmission goes all over my engine and transmission, truck. I have it towed again to Aamco wait an hour they state it’s fixed I drive it 3-4 miles and trans cooler lines blow again. Mind you transmission fluid is shot all over my entire engine and transmission, truck. I’m left in a parking lot fluid everywhere and calling a tow truck yet again. They install a new trans cooler and state that the guy cut the last one too short and that’s why it failed. They damaged my front grill by this time, my ac condenser , all front lights on the grill, muffler strap, leave transmission fluid everywhere. I pick up my truck go to dinner with my family get home to back into my driveway and I lose my shifter linkage. They tell me they fixed the leak that was supposedly coming from the transmission wiring harness and the linkage grommet. Yet every morning before work I have spots of transmission fluid in my driveway or in front of my house. I informed them it’s leaking from the front of the transmission by the flywheel cover “ that they never even but all the bolts back in”!! They stated it was coming from the wiring harness. Now on May 9th, 2024 I’m driving to work transmission starts shuttering some and a car drives up beside me waiving their hands yelling your trucks on fire and you have fluid coming out. By this time I see flames out the passenger fender well and out the upper part of my hood. I immediately pull over and left the hood run to the back of my truck grab what little water I have and start pouring it on while another guy runs over with a fire extinguisher and puts the truck fire out. Transmission fluid everywhere on the road and on my truck once again, transmission failure along with almost burning me! Never once was there an apology or an attempt to fix all the damages and I never even raised my voice with this establishment or got ugly. Have I mentioned that the last time the truck left that shop heat shield wasn’t barely attached to the trans, bolts still missing from the flywheel cover, transmission fluid leaking from front seal and rear tail shaft, transmission fluid was never cleaned up ! Check your vehicle after work is complete especially for damages as well.

David has been a great pleasure to work with. We live in Ohio and when our transmission failed on our daughter’s car he fixed it (for less than original estimate). We had a problem with the car just recently and he helped us get it diagnosed and was willing to stand by the warranty if it came to that (fortunately a very minor deal and not a transmission failure). I trust and appreciate this shop!
