I was introduced to Jacob through an owner of a framing shop (Bella art and Frame in Monument, CO) after I panicked.

Let me back up even further. I inherited a large statue from my mother that was in my childhood home. It was formed/casted by a French sculptor in the 1830s. I had a local guy complete some wiring (it had traveled across country in pieces) and could not wait for it to be up on its pedestal, so I propped her up on some carpet. The “reds” were very front heavy. And sure enough, she fell forward. And broke in half across the abdomen. *expletive*

Panicking. No idea who to call. Maybe I’ll just glue her. Maybe someone can weld her. Maybe *if* she gets fixed we can put a d-ring on her back and attach her to the wall… I was spiraling. Was she just heading to the garbage? Lots of tears.

The owner of Bella art and frame directed me to Jacob. I gave Jacob what little information I had about her and Jacob willingly took on this mission and hauled her away. Over the next few weeks, he found artist(s) skilled in Denver to repair the abdomen, re-patina, re-wire, add wiring at the base (!), ensure she had all 10 fingers and an inconspicuous loop on the back to anchor her to the wall. Yes, multiple artists - driving her all over the front range between repairs to get the best people for the job. To be honest, I’m surprised these crafts-people exist in Denver or even Colorado!

He then delivered her in this enormous crate (she was *not* budging in that thing) and then installed her in our home. She’s home and she works and she’s beautiful and I’ve just been bawling since we lit her all up. My mom would be so happy about Typha’s new home out here and the care Jacob took of her. I sure am. Words will never describe how lucky and grateful I am for being introduced to Jacob. Thank you, Jacob, from the bottom of my heart for getting her all fixed up and safe at home!

Jacob has been my handyman hero for several years. No matter the scope of the job, he’s on it. Part I like best is his creativity if needed. Great to work with!
