My wife and I bought the 1000 watt kit and absolutely love it. We would highly recommend buying your Ebike or Ebike kit thru Johnny Nerd Out. John is super knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with. Also if you can afford it the front and rear light combo with the turn signals and horn is a nice upgrade. The light is much better than the one that comes with the bafang mid drive kits. installing the kits myself wasn’t bad at all, pretty satisfying actually. Following Johnnys video on the tube makes it pretty darn easy. You will definitely want to get your self at bike work stand or make one. Thanks again John!

So I found Johnny on YouTube 2-3 years ago and convinced me to convert a Trek Roscoe 6 over to an e-bike. Used the Bafang 1000 watt with 52 volt battery. With his videos and a single phone consult, I was able to convert bike over like a pro (I think). The biggest problem I had was getting my chain line straight. Once that was right, I did take to a local bike shop to get it to shift to one gear it wouldn’t shift into. Took them all of 2 minutes to get it shifting correctly. I was forced to take my time as ordering parts wasn’t always straight forward depending on bike you choose.

So FF 2 years and I’m on a solo archery elk hunting trip in CO and my e-bike is a HUGE part of being able to get where I’m hunting. Had a crack in my display for a while and water had gotten under it. It hadn’t been a problem for over a year though. Sure enough, got up to hunt early one morning and bike wouldn’t even turn on. This was on a Thursday and I immediately called every bike shop in closest town, Breckenridge. No one had any kind of Bafang display so I emailed Johnny. He got back to me in less than 30 minutes. I bought a 500C replacement from him and he got tithe UPS store before the cut off to overnight it to me. I was up and running again by Saturday. He was ON IT to say the least. I had already spent thousands of dollars on this trip and only lost a couple days of hunting when I likely was looking at having to change my entire hunt plan without that e-bike running.

Can’t say a single bad thing or enough good things about every experience I’ve had with this guy. Truly first class service and just a rest guy in general. I plan on converting a ful suspension next and you can bet I will be using Johnny for parts and advice. He is worth every penny and more.

This is probably the first google review I’ve ever done that I can think of. I discovered Johnny through YouTube and learned a lot from his videos.

6 months back I was ready to order motors then life happened, and finally ordered some last week. He shipped it same day and I received it within less than a week.

Communication has been prompt and he has been patient with the many questions I’ve sent him, including a few I had initially asked 6 months ago when I was ready to buy initially.

I bought the entire kit from him - including batteries and accessories. His prices are more than fair and I feel way more comfortable buying batteries from him, than some random company on Amazon or UPP.

TL;DR: Superb communication and service, stands by his products, and is very helpful.

He is an absolute wonderful person for anyone to do business with. I have done many phone calls and emails with him. Bought my BBS02 and battery for it from him. Will buy a 72 Volt Cyc Motor from him when I can afford one.

I prefer hub motors but one reason to go with mid drives is getting to use Mag Wheels. Red bike in the photos with all stuff from him.

3 years in on my BBS02 kit I got from John and bike has preformed flawless. Install was straight forward and my mechanical skills are limited at best. Installed on '09 Kona Kahuna 29er Hardtail and couldn't be happier. I ride with a group of guys on Specialized Turbo Levos that were $7k+ and the Bafang motor on my Kona outperforms and battery outlasts them as well. John was great to work with and would highly recommend the phone consult, was very helpful. Johnny Nerd-Out was a great find!

I’ve watched some of Johnny’s YouTube videos and signed up for a consult call, only $30. I think that is such a great service since navigating the e-bike conversation space is challenging. I forgot about the consultation call and was out of service when he tried to reach me. I apologized and was glad to lose the $30. I sold the bike I was going to convert. Anyway, he refunded me anyway,( who does that?), so I wanted to relate the story here.
