Prairie Electric has done all our electric work over the years from kitchen and bathroom remodeling to installing a Generac generator. The latest was a custom installation of 12 recessed lights with dimmers in the updated family room. Good for hobby work or working out on the bright setting, or theater setting for watching movies or gaming/flight simulator. Only took the four hours from start to finish.

I appreciated that I was able to get someone out the same day I called to remove an old flood light fixture from my garage. The electricians were quick and knowledgeable.
I didn't give more than 3 starts because of the price. I had to pay $240 for a 10 min job. It would have been nice to have been given a discounted rate since it didn't take the full hour.

It was $1,087.00 to install to plugins into our floor so we can plug in our two side lamps and couch so no one could see the wires. Kyle was able to install it within 3 hours. Then Kyle had it quick inspection done over the phone and it passed the inspection with flying colors. My house looks so much better without those wires being seen thank you Kyle for making this possible today.

We had Prairie Electric install 3 whole-house, automatic transfer generators on our property’s 2 homes and main barn - a big and complex project. The crew was professional, expert, and a pleasure to have on site. They coordinated scheduling with the propane company’s installation of the tanks and final testing. I would recommend them for any electrical project small or large.

Hello, I wish there were a review less than one, but, here is my experience:
I called for help with two small issues on the recommendation of a friend. The servicer, Glen, showed up and took care of the first issue in about 15 minutes, then went to look at my bathroom fan that stopped working. He took out the fan, cleaned it, and hooked it back up. It still did not work, at which time I am told that I will need to purchase a new fan. All good so far. Since he was still short of the mandatory one hour of labor, he said he would go up into my attic to check what would be needed on the return visit. He came back and told me EXACTLY which fan to purchase on Amazon. I did purchase this top of the line fan and made a second appointment to have them return when the fan had arrived. (Cost of first appointment $309).

Visit number two was scheduled after 12 PM the next week. I took a half day off work (value: ~$325 out of my pocket). I am one hour into the arrival window when I receive a call from Dean, the servicer for today. Dean informs me that there is a problem.
1. The fan I was TOLD TO BUY is not right for the ducting in my attic.
My choices: get a converter from my two inch pipe to the four inch pipe. OR, I could have all of the duct work changed out to the four inch pipe. Then Dean informs me that not only does a converter not exist, that even if it did the fan I was told to buy is too powerful, so basically option one is not a choice. (Why did he even mention option one?)
2. The other option is re-ducting that section in my attic, but that would mean obtaining the materials, which he graciously offered that I could go get those parts at Home Depot. He told me the approximate cost, but then added that I would probably pay $320 in labor, $60 for the materials and oh yeah, he says as an after thought, I would need a $150 permit to change out that ducting. Don't forget this requires me to go purchase the parts.
So, let's do the math: First visit- 309 +cost of fan- 165+ cost of parts to do duct work-60+ cost of permit- 150+ cost of labor- 320 + cost for my lost work time- 325= $1329 out of my pocket to fix a bathroom fan.
SOUND REASONABLE?
I am now sitting in my living room frustrated about the lack of either servicer to do their job appropriately. DO NOT recommend.

We recently had Prairie Electric install a Kohler home generator
for us. Our experience was excellent starting with the initial phone call to discuss our requirements to installation and then follow-up service after the final inspections were completed. Prairie Electric is a most professional electrical contractor, and I would highly recommend their services. Based our recent experiences I rate them a well deserved five stars!

The team at Prairie Electric were very professional, thorough, and responsive throughout the quote and installation process for our Kohler home backup generator. Their work was done well and on schedule. We were very pleased with the project. We'll be going with Prairie Electric for our annual generator preventative maintenance servicing as well.
