With 40+ wineries within 30 miles on Benson, Arizona, I picked the BEST!

Owners Jim & Ruth Graham were so welcoming, and I even joined them and their friends above the tasting room, basically their personal residence, for a few hours of sampling wines, pistachios, conversation, stories, and laughter!

Yes, besides acres of grape vines, they have acres of pistachio bushes too!

Apparently, this arid, high elevation desert is perfect for growing both.

Ruth knew the owners of Heart of The Desert Winery & Pistachio Farm in Alamogordo, New Mexico, that I was at a week or so ago.

Ruth also knew "Bob" at the Benson Visitor Center that talked my ear off for about 30 minutes last week, eventhough the Visitor Center was officially closed.

It is such a small world!

Oh, what made me pick Golden Rule Vineyards?

I read the online reviews & looked at the pictures. Many reviews reflected that they make incredible wines, and I agree.

I would also add that you arrive as a stranger and leave hours later as a friend.

Highly recommend this winery, very good Arizona wine (especially Cab Franc) and also excellent pistachios. Loved meeting and talking with Ruth, who did our tasting and whose family runs the place. Beautiful tasting room and the surrounding landscapes!

My sister and I went here Thanksgiving weekend and had a wonderful time. The wines we tried were all excellent and the person helping us was extremely friendly, informed, and helpful. Next time we stop by in Wilcox, we are definitely making this place a priority to go again. Can't recommend this place enough.

Ruth and Jim were such wonderful hosts! They are the owners and shared stories of their wines and were so great to talk to. They also farm pistachios which were amazing as well! My friend and I ended buying 3 bottles of wine and 2 bags of pistachios. It is off the main vineyard road but was so nice to visit. Also saw some deer outside

We visited this tasting room in town and our host was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. Cost of tasting was normal and the wines enjoyable. He explained each wine and we learned much about Golden Rule vineyards.
We bought several bottles of assorted wines and will definitely come back in the future

This review is for the tasting room at the vineyard, not in town.
I cannot say enough good things about the experience. The wines are very good and the pistachio’s great, but the visit with the owners is what made it one of the best wine tasting experiences we have ever had! We’ll worth the drive and time!

We are members of Harvest Host and this winery is on our A list. A beautiful day to sit out and enjoy their wonderful wines and talk with so many friendly people. They specialize in red which I love, my husband not so much but the owners Jim and Ruth made sure to take care of him. They treated everyone there like family.
