I was a member of Pastor Bryant's church over on Jackson Street, many years ago. He was the reason, I learned the Bible in practical terms, along with Mrs. Evelyn, the Sunday school teacher who became my mentor for a short period of time.His guidance to me as well, as my friend that attended made me confident in what I was reading and how to apply it. I've visited Greater Heights before and it still felt the "old church" feel. It's been many years since I've set foot inside of a church, not for any particular reason just got older, however Pastor Bryant always remembered my name when I would see him. That made me always remember him. I wish all good things to Pastor and his church because his heart was in the right place and he still displayed a relatable, charismatic personality. I will forever be grateful to experience his sermons, laughter and warm nature. Thank you ❤️

I went to there bible study as asked by the pastor who said he wanted to speak with me personally and that he had something for me..well only 3 people were there to include him and i made the 4th in attendence..after the bible study ( i actually also went as asked to be at a choir practice for the men in that this is mens month for which i had decided to help out being as their arent too many men who are members..in the midst of his talkin with me that practice got canceled..) long story short he after inviting me to events for the men then proceeded to tell me that i had on this past sunday while sitting in the congregation had taken over the lead to the song his choir was singing and wanted to know why i wouldnt sing with the choir as he had asked of me (and constantly had tried to pressure me to do since ive been going there, and i was greatly appalled and offended and floored by this accusation mind you and shocked) and i told him outright that i dont do mediocrity!!!! He asked what i meant by that..i retorted that the choir has been singin virtually the same songs for 14 years and yet not one of them is perfected..and i dont do it like that..hecsaid well you made a commitment to the choir... i said you say i made a commitment..what i did was join the church under watchcare and my own Christian experience, and i decided that i would stay for the choir practice and see if i could be of assistance in that area as well tho thats not what i joined the church for..he claimed that i committed to them, and went back to me alledgedly taking over the song.. and he doesnt see why i wont sing in his choir as opposed to in the congregation..i then told him that i reserve the right to choose and i choose not to since im not a good fit, and i dont think of myself as that important ( pertaining to the choir) and theres no need to be a hinderance to them since he and they are content with what is and im not and that i do what i do i dont do what i dont do, i will do what i will do and i wont do what i wont do and im sure that'll remain the same.."is it ok for me to praise and worship my God in your church? He said well yes..i asked are you sure? He said yes but i wish you would do it in the choir...he then asked if i understood the Order of things...to which i replied yes..to which he replied..well i am the Pastor and im in charge and ( i interjected) so your sentiment is that i oughta do what you want done how you want it done and when and thats that.. he just looked at me then said i am the Pastor this is my church.. well then ill leave you to it then Pastor.. needless to say theres a 99.7% chance that ill never cross that threshold again..that man is no Pastor at all of mine, and he wont have to worry about me going there nor taking over his choir leads nor anything else..i dont do dictatorships well at all, ive decided to let the dead tend to and bury the dead, and ill take my singing elsewhere as well as my other gifts. I have no need of a 'daddy' and no earthly man no matter the title, rules my life, nor my mind. Nor makes decisions for me, and demands never go too well my way, nor ultimatums.. im above that..except a seed be planted in the ground it cannot produce life, and it sure cant produce life-everlasting..ill praise and worship God, His Son, And The Holy elsewhere and serve elsewhere..i will serve and be of service always, just not at this mans church.. I am an Ambassador of Christ and Minister there-of..and i approve this posting. God bless all.
