Had bearings pressed by Doug he also quoted me 200 to port and polish big block heads. I didn't get it done but that was over a year ago. Great place to go to. Plan on taking a set of heads over tomorrow will update my post on cost to mill and change springs all around a great shop and nice guy.

I specialize in rebuilding import engines. I have brought to doug's machine dozens of heads for resurfacing, hot tanking, blocks for resurfacing, honing, .20 over etc. turnaround time is by far the quickest Ive ever seen, many times I get a same day turnaround, otherwise 1 day max with my experience. the quality of work is professional and I have no reason to go anywhere else for my needs. the only thing I end up always having to do it hit the components with compressed air to remove any metal shavings that end up in the holes of the head. But it never bothered me

I had a jet ski that needed the jugs bored out to fit some new pistons to complete a top end rebuild. This shop was competent and also did more work than necessary to ensure that everything would work together completely. This was two years ago, so I have verified the work done at this place through taking my skis out and taking them to the limits. I would absolutely take my stuff to them again for any machining required. Good shop, but most importantly COMPETENT shop. Oh, and btw I'm a gearhead and know good work when I see it. Thank you!

Doug helped me out with a stubborn rotor on my Jeep. I couldn't get it apart so I brought him the whole spindle and he worked his magic and had it on the lathe in minutes.. What a great guy.

Terrible place will never do business with them again took my money and gave a motor that I had to have torn down and rebuilt to use. The owner Doug didn't care to hear the problems I had with his shop and told me to speak to Willie really and turned didn't want to hear what I had to say wouldn't acknowledge what was wrong and then told me what to go do with myself never met any of my expected dates always made excuses for why they didn't care about my time line because they already had my money be warned.

needed a center bearing pressed on my drive shaft. when I called they said it would take an hour or two. explained my truck was on side of the road. job done in 10 minutes.

Had called several automotive machine shops in the area for a simple front wheel bearing to be pressed out and a new one to be pressed in. All had told me that they couldnt do it or couldnt handle it (though It is a very simple press job)

However when calling "Dougs Machine Shop" they made it sound like a cinch and easy to do along with a very low price. (about 30 bucks)

Im very happy to know there is a real hardcore machine shop still out here in Hampton roads and its name is "Dougs Machine Shop".
