The employees at Island disposal pick up refuse *reliably* on-time, on-schedule, and with consideration. The garbage is fully emptied. They don't leave trash on the street. (Yay!) They are considerate about how they leave the cans. Great team here in my neighborhood, and I'm thankful to have their services!

EDIT: Today, after our original message, we got a very nice phone call from Andrew, the site manager addressing our concerns and were very pleased to discover that apparently what we were told yesterday by customer service was not correct. He then told us that he had told customer service to put in a work order to the driver not to come to pick up our dumpster today. We greatly appreciate the immediate action taken by Andrew and were very relieved our road wouldn't be torn up today by the truck. He indicated that he will review procedures with the managers and the staff of ID. We want to thank him for his quick response. We also want to say that the customer service person was very cordial and businesslike but stuck to her understanding of her training but hopefully now will be retrained to reflect the correct policies. Thank you Andrew - and get well quickly.

We just called ID to request no pickup tomorrow of a 1 yard dumpster at a residence (not commercial) and were told that the new policy implemented about a month ago requires the drivers to pick up all dumpsters every week unless there is construction preventing access. We requested this knowing that we would be charged for this week and did it as a courtesy to ID and the driver so he didn't waste his time, fuel and wear and tear on the truck coming to our home for an essentially empty dumpster. We asked because we were concerned about our driveway being very soft due to the torrential rains we are having. We were concerned about the heavy truck tearing up our driveway. It is sad that ID is no longer a local company and part of the community. They are now big business. Don't care about their customers and their needs. It is also sad there isn't any competition to make them better, unless you want to haul your garbage to the Coupeville dump which is just past ID.

The trash pike-up service at our house has consistently been on time and Professional--no mess and no problems. UPDATE: Their new trash collection system relies less on people and more on machines and SUCKS. If it's a windy day, you can spend the morning picking up your wind-blown trash. And they don't care.

I made a request to have a dumpster picked up the first part of the week. They explained they were too busy to get to it until Friday. On Friday No one showed up by late afternoon, so I spent seven minutes on the phone with the representative who couldn’t find my account after being a customer for over six months. I got to a supervisor who promised me they would pick it up. That same supervisor called me back later in the day so saying their truck couldn’t get to the dumpster which was 20 feet away rather than get out of the truck and have one of the 20 people standing around push it the 20 feet he took off . A third call got me to a supervisor who basically confirmed my time had no value and they were going to give me a minimal credit. Meanwhile, the garbage overflows, and their solution is to send somebody out four days later.
