Update January 2025: I've been going to La Grange for several years. After living in northern California and Washington state for a few years each, I've come to appreciate good wine and finding the same quality on the east coast can sometimes be a challenge, but not at La Grange. I always find at least one wine I really like....the Battlefield red blend was actually one of my first favorites several years ago. I recently saw on Facebook they had won several medals at an international and San Francisco wine competitions; so I told my husband let's take an afternoon and head to the countryside of Haymarket, Virginia and try some of the award winning wines before they sell out. It was totally worth the short drive from the DC area. We arrived ahead of any Friday evening rush and had the tasting room to ourselves for awhile. Talking with the staff was friendly and enjoyable. We tried all the reds on their tasting menu (5) and then each got a glass of our favorite. We purchased a bottle off each of the award winners and then called it a night. The other great thing about La Grange is their partnerships. I first discovered this awesome vineyard as a volunteer with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue when they hosted a dog adoption event at La Grange. The people I met were so kind, and the dog friendliness of the vineyard is really something to be appreciated. I can't say enough great things about La Grange. Definitely give them your business. Thanks!

La Grange is a great place to enjoy some good Virginia wines with a quiet country side view. The folks who work there are friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. This winery is also kid and pet friendly. 🙂

Really liked La Grange. Their event calendar is the best around including a vineyards 5k and puppy yoga, their white wines are really solid, and they have some interesting reds. The grounds are really nice, the staff are amazing, and it’s an overall excellent atmosphere. The only issue is the wines are pretty expensive, but that comes with the territory with many Virginia wineries. Of this we’re like any of the other wineries in the area, it would be 3-4 stars but the grounds, staff, and event calendar really set it apart and will definitely have us coming back.

A nice winery set in a quiet location. The outdoor seating is very nice with a view of the wines and mountains. Indoor seating is limited and a little small from what I observed. Wines were good and food options are limited to bite size snacks. Some hot food options would have been great! It was a little cold when we arrived since the sun was down but we still enjoyed the experience.

It had all the characteristics of a Merlot and at the same time it was surprisingly SMOOTH. This made it a superb Merlot. The rest of the tasting experience is good.
The grounds are beautiful, perfect for a picnic. The cold cellar converted into a lounge area is cozy. The upstairs, a roomy more modern livingroom setting is very warm and inviting. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. A very nice place for enjoying a glass or a bottle of wine with friends or for renting out areas to host an event.

Very quaint winery with vineyard. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating with wide open rolling hills around the manor. Reasonable prices (typical for the area) for tastings, glasses and bottles. Some charcuterie options available for purchase or bring your own.

Beautiful winery, very unique culture and history associated with the building (civil war remnants). The employees were helpful and friendly, and the wine was quite good. A very relaxing place to enjoy a glass or two, and plenty of outdoor seating next to the vineyards.

We attended a graduation celebration for a nephew who graduated from high school. The place was packed a very hot day to be outdoors we stayed under the large trees in the shade. Pretty nice looking country property in secluded location near Haymarket. Kids had lots of fun, I did not try the wine but my son enjoyed it and had lots of good comments about it. I will return during a cooler afternoon and have a few glasses of their wine while enjoying the view.
