I’m Making a grinder stand , I brought foot plate so they could suggest pipe size needed. Salesman visually said what size I had without measuring or getting out of his chair. They cut a pc of pipe close to correct @$40 but was 1/8 inch off and wobbly
I was told to just weld it !! The plate has set screws for tightening . No returns !!! Instead of grinning he should have been fired . $40 might be really a small job but it should be a warning to all. Not the same place it was a few years back. Be warned!!!!

I go to Yavapai Steel on an almost weekly basis for all of my blacksmithing and plasma cutting needs. They have a wide selection of bar stock and sheet metals ranging is sizes from super thin to bigger than you'd really ever need... and they're customer service is also worth noting.

You can trust that the office and yard crews will do whatever they can to get you the type of steel you need for your project. They'll even deliver it to you, from Cordes Lakes to Flagstaff if they can, maybe farther if you plead the right case. Rebar, culverts, pipes, bars, tubes, channels, c-purlin, no-climb horse fence, notched posts, sheets, aluminum, cheap remnants, etc. - they'll even special order it for you. They'll cut it or shear it to your needs, band it up and help drop it on your trailer or truck. You can't build a proper fence or automatically opening gate locally without them.

Not friendly at all , I have been going to Yavapai Steel for over 20 years. Now they have been bought out by a big company. They are rude and almost make you feel like you are a bother. They actually make you stand outside in the freezing cold and rain if you don’t have a mask on. I will Never set foot in Yavapai Steel again. Going to Prescott Steel from now on they are friendly and they want you as a customer.
