On a cold, rainy day in December, we visited this beautiful winery and found ourselves thoroughly enjoying the adventure, education, atmosphere and the scenery. Cindy helped us - she really made the experience Awesome! She knows her stuff about the wines and added so much to the whole experience. and just as the sun was setting the air and lighting became breathtaking as the pictures TRY to show!

The views from the pavilion are amazing!! The wine was refreshing, we tried the classic tasting! The property patrol (owners two doggies)was worked very hard to greet every guest! Other pets/animals are not allowed.

Gorgeous vineyards. This is the place to hang for amazing views. Large areas to sit and relax. Big fields and great pictures here. This is a bit of a bigger production. Outdoor pavilion (enclosed), lots of seating. I assume it gets much more crowded than when I was here. Beautiful!

Lovely property. If it was mine, I would not charge $16 for a glass of wine and I would find a way to offer a wide variety of fresh snacks. I didn't feel much warmth.

This place is a 10/10 for me. Every day is a perfect day to visit because the landscape is stunning on cloudy stormy days just as much as the perfect sunny days. I come here every time I finish a hike anywhere near Afton because the mountain views cannot be beat.l. There is a tasting room that was recently reopened after COVID, a separate outbuilding to sit and have a glass or bottle (both buildings have AC), and a variety of patio and lawn seating. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. They have some snacks for sale if you’re hungry but there isn’t a full menu.

There are also some cottages for rent if you want to visit and stay onsite however I’ve never stayed in one.

Breathtaking views, great wine, and really really nice wait staff.
They have a beautiful glass walled pavilion that gives you 360° views of the vineyard. The bathrooms are very clean, the Flights come in really cool small glass jars. The wait staff noticed we were a bridal party and offered to take photos for us at the vines and even gave us cool photo ideas. Overall a great experience Highly Highly recommend checking this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful location and close to I-64. The Tasting Room has fantastic views and is a really pleasing space. Unfortunately, Afton charges $15 for a glass of wine and I find that pricey. Also, the sampler pack was packaged in tiny mason jars and put in a brown lunch bag, and there was no description of the winery or Wines By The hostess. Aside from the space I was not very impressed unfortunately.

I really like the grounds here as it is breathtakingly beautiful. I mainly liked their Gewürztraminer wine. I found one of the staff members with short hair to be kind of snobby and not great with customer service but the rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful. I did not like that you could not choose which wines to try. They choose them for you and they are all served prepoured and refrigerated which I did not appreciate with some of them being reds. I would much rather choose some of the wines poured directly from the bottle.
