Can I make this 6 stars? George & Tracy are amazing, knowledgeable and immediate friends. The venue is perfect & also built by the owner’s hands. We’ve been coming back for years, each time the wine is better— if you can believe it?! Obviously we will be back for more. This is a definite must during your time in CVille, Nelson County.. you’re in Virginia Just go.

This area is busting with wineries so if you can only visit one, you should know that Brent Manor Vineyards has something truly remarkable. You’ll find interesting Portuguese-style inspired wines along with other wines typical of this region- and all fantastic! There are also mountain views, a peaceful adult-only vibe, beautiful venue with seating inside and out, enthusiastic owners/winemakers, and a friendly cat.

NOT kid friendly! Upon arriving, we were approached by the owner saying that all children must be kept within 6 feet of an adult the entire time and that no toys were allowed on the premises due to their “liability.”

We immediately left to go find a more family-friendly winery. I wish we had known this and read more reviews before making the drive.

They might as well have a “no children allowed” sign upon entry.

No clue on their wines as it was clear we were not welcome, so didn’t stay around to find out.

This is a great little Portuguese vineyard in Nelson Co. The vineyard is back to doing regular tastings and they have a good mix of white, rose, and red varieties. They also have rose, white, and ruby red ports that candy be tasted for an additional fee. I can say that I actually liked all of the wines and ports, which is unusual as there's always one or two I don't like, but not in this case. They had 2 whites, 2 rose, 2 reds, and 1 red blend (my favorite). Hands down my favorite of the ports was the chilled white. Currently their facility is relatively small, but very nice with a nice outdoor seating area with an awesome view. They do have a big expansion being constructed that will more than double their space and be able to host events. Finally they don't have a kitchen, but do offer some cheese/salami/crackers. They do not mind if you bring your own munchies.

4/16/2023: Stopped by again this year and like usual for a small winery the wines have changed, but like last year they're very good. I've attached the latest wine list, some updated pictures, and the rating remains 5 stars even though I'd normally reserve that for 'estate' wineries.

We dropped by late on Friday after setting up our accommodations for the night (late like 445 when they closed at 530) and they were better than welcoming! They had a sweet cat that greeted us on the way in, and weren’t at all perturbed that we were the last in for the night. We tried everything they had to try, and liked it all! The reds are the favorites for us 4, and we left with a case of deliciousness.

I had the most memorable, positive experience with them. The owner was more than attentive with my boyfriend and I, he was so good at educating us about each wine and region. It was such a pleasant conversation and educational experience, not to mention the most beautiful views for this time of year (early September) !! I couldn't be happier after this experience. It seems to be a married couple working in and owning the winery. They are beautiful people and more than accommodating. I highly recommend everyone to make a stop here!! Gorgeous views and delicious wines! They even have special wine cocktails such as a lemonade/mint/basil cocktail that includes their wine in it, omg to die for !!! So good. MUST VISIT! We will be returning.
