This is a very small but yet very nice vineyard here in Nelson county. If you're looking for a fancy tasting room/event space this is not the vineyard you want to visit. If you like very good quality wine made from Vidal grapes as that's what The owner Bob Ramsey in his small 2 acre vineyard then this is definitely the place for you. I will say we had a tour from the owner today and it's the first and only time we've had anybody show us how to properly prune the vines prior to them budding out in spring. He then showed us how he processed the grapes and eventually put them in vats for aging. All total he had six white wines available and one white port. Of the six white wines available One was a mulled wine and one was a dessert wine. I will say considering they're all made from the same grape they're very different in taste profile. We wound up purchasing three of his wines and the white port but our favorite was a Vidalfresca.

This winery was such a lovely surprise! It was all around an intimate experience, unlike some of the larger wineries. The owner, Bob, took time to show us around and explain the wine-making process, as well as gave us a tasting of his wines. The wines were delicious and we will definitely visit again.

My girlfriends and I spent time at this great winery today. A few things to know: When you arrive don’t judge because you don’t see fancy bells and whistles as I promise you will not regret your visit! The owners immediately greeted us along with their cute pup “Pickles”
Bob gave us a vineyard tour … I have been to many wineries in and around Charlottesville and Napa Valley and never toured the vineyards or had the owner teach you about the process of what it takes to get that perfect glass / bottle of wine. We started our tasting and the wines just got better and better. How many vineyards can you say that about Oh and they have a white port … Have you ever had a white port ? Simply delicious!! Please stop and spend time with Bob , the one man show who spends 10+ hours a day out in his vineyard and stops what he is doing to spend time with his guests.

The owner, Bob Ramsey, gave us an amazing vineyard tour. His knowledge and passion for growing grapes and making wine was impressive.
Several of our group of 8, who have visited vineyards all over the world, said it was the most informative tour they have ever experienced.
Great explanations for how the vines are pruned and why, what diseases pose problems and how those are addressed, how ice wine is made and the different varieties that he gross and why.
We tasted 4 white wines, a spiced wine and a rose’.
Wonderful experience for us all.

This is a wonderful, unpretentious winery close to Wintergreen. We stopped because of proximity to the resort and based on other reviews. I was hoping to grab some quick bottles, but the owner, Bob, kindly insisted we do a vineyard tour after realizing we had kids with us, and we were all glad that we took the tour! The kids loved tasting the grapes, and Bob was so enigmatic and interesting that they were intrigued and had a great time. The wines are also excellent, so it was a win for the whole family, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This is not a manufactured or clinical experience--wine, science, history, and travel lovers will enjoy time with an authentic and humble sage. Thank you for this wonderful memory, Bob! (And also delicious wine!)

We were walking to the campsite after getting off trail when we ran into Bob working on the vineyard. He invited us in and showed us around, telling us all about the vines and his process for taking care of them. The next day we went back for another tour with a bigger group and then a tasting. It was incredible! Very personal and knowledgeable of everything. Bob was super kind and friendly, and the wine tasted incredible. If you're passing through the area or need a break from the trail, highly recommend stopping here and enjoying the experience. Happy Trails!

Great experience! Bob was very welcoming to our family including young kids. Everyone enjoyed learning about growing grapes and harvesting. The adults especially enjoyed the variety of wines. Definitely worth the stop!
