We're buying a plot of land in Nelson County and had to stop by the court in order to find an old survey done on the land. I was ready for the rude staff after reading other people's reviews. I did not have a bad experience at all. All the staff I asked for help were very helpful and friendly. The young person at the desk for the records room was very helpful and assisted us in finding the information we needed.

The staff are not personable. They are not welcoming and warm. Forget smiling at you. They fail to give pertinent information that is needed when filing important documents. It is sad that we have these people working in our court system where our tax money is going. I will say on any given day any of the police staff that sits at the entrance are always welcoming, and very friendly the times that I have gone there.

Called into the Clerks office today, 1/22/20 to inquire about obtaining a deed to my property. I had recently paid off the note and was seeking information to obtain a clear deed. Short, curt, disrespectful is the only way i can describe my experience talking to the young lady. She acted as if she was too busy to assist. Basically told if i needed something i would have to come in person and do the research myself in order to obtain a deed. Aren't these people paid to provide services to the residents, who in fact pay their salaries? Just a little common courtesy and a more helpful attitude would be appreciated. If this were a private business they would not have me as a customer but since it is a county office that one has to deal with, the civil servants do not apparently care what type of service they provide.
