Let me start this review by saying that I like this Krogers. I think they run some good specials. You earn points to use on gas. The deli is good so why the 3 star score? The checkout is terrible. If you only had a small amount of grocieries then the self check out will probably be fine. If you have a buggy full then the self check out will probably give you trouble. When using it the machine quits and youll have to get an employee over to reset it. On one trip i had to get help 4 times. I was even trying to keep scanner clear when it happened. Usually they only have one cashier and a long line. ( I would gladly wait in line instead of dealing with self checkout.)

I decided to update this review. My last couple of vists have been really good and I haven't had to deal with my previous complaints ( namely the self checkout) I decided to raise my 3 star to a 5 star. Hope Krogers keeps it up.

This is our local Kroger. The only one still around, and it is very good. I have shopped here hundreds of times without very many instances of bad customer service or appearances happening. I do not shop in store generally. I get my food delivered, and that has been A+ too. Quality such as this makes me wish there was another one around so you didn't have to go so far.

Never been insulted so much by a “supervisor”.
Walked in the front door and saw Sweet Cherries for $2.99. The tag clearly said this was for a 48 oz size— that is about $1 a pound. When I checked out, the price was $2.99 a pound. I asked the checkout clerk about that discrepancy— she said “you’re wrong, that’s not the price”. I went back and took a picture of the sign. Says clearly $2.99 for 48oz. Normally $7.99 down to $2.99…
I brought the pic back and she she indicated that I must be stupid— I asked will y’all at least correct the sign… she said “I ain’t gotta do nothing” I asked to see a supervisor..
I showed the pic to the supervisor and she kinda said “You must be dumb if they’re selling cherries @ $1 a pound”
I asked if she’d correct the sign. She called a produce clerk to “fix” the issue so it’s more clear.
Actually they have it clear— a mistake—$2.99 for 48oz Cherries.
I left the cherries with them, paid for my other items and left.
As I was walking out she said “I’m sorry you misunderstood this”. I replied I didn’t misunderstand—

Terribly run store. I went in for sale items which were labeled when the item when grabbed however, once checking out they ring at regular price and this was multiple items. If you go through regular check out you have the slow and elderly individuals ringing you up and are clearly having a difficult time doing so. I’ve only encountered one friendly cashier and a friendly individual at the customer service desk who was kind enough to make things right. I had such a terrible and uncomfortable experience that it’s time to find a new and less stressful store to shop at.

Show up an hour before close they will lock the main door and put carts across all the other reasonable ways to get into the store. The cart pusher guy is fine with taking a minute to wipe down his car in the parking lot though. Welcome to Martinsville.

While Kroger in general is a bit out of the way, this location makes the trip worth it. Friendly service, fresh products with clean displays, and an overall welcoming environment. Prices are good, savings are great, and I would recommend this location to anyone

The self checkout machines are infuriating. They consistently and constantly stop to request assistance from an employee. As many as 7-10 times during ‘self’ checkout. Please bring back scan & go like you had 4 years ago.

This store is nice. Usually busy too. The only reason i do not give it 5 stars is the fact you can go to the rocky mount one 30 mins away and get sushi. I dont know why they dont all offer that?
