Today at 6:30, the coin machine at shoppers ran out of printer paper. No issues with that, I can understand things happening. And a machine needing services. I informed the manager, which I thought was a manager, and she informed another lady to come over and assist me. The person behind the customer service came over and assisted me with what she could. She hit a few key hit and ultimately said I can’t help you. You need to contact the manager. I was under the impression that that was the manager. She’s like nope I am not the manager and I need somebody else to come over. She walked away to go get the manager about 10 to 15 minutes later no one showed up. I went over to the customer service desk to find out how long you’ll be in this person before I got assistance. The first initial person behind the customer service pointed around the corner and said she’s over there somewhere. I went over to the deli area and found a manager sitting in a chair hiding behind the wall. After yelling out asking for a manager. I tried to explain the situation and what was happening, and they were very dismissive and didn’t care to anything I had to say. Initially, they told me that I would have to come back tomorrow because she wasn’t the store manager. The lady on the phone through Coinbase was like no you’re able to do it. We can help you walk through the whole process and luckily she was on the phone to help me obtain the funds. customer service through Coinbase provided a reference number and went over to the coin machine to verify things. The manager lady did not know anything about the Coinbase and just kept hitting buttons and didn’t understand what she was doing. I tried to explain to her and she kept dismissing me. The two ladies from the customer service and the manager were very dismissive and rude to the point that when I heard her call me an asshole under her breath. I called her out and she’s like no I was talking about the machine even now she was talking nothing about the machine. The store manager was very rude. The service manager was very rude at the end of the day. I did get my money, but if you have any issues or concerns that need to be addressed, this is definitely not the way to handle the situation. they told me I was rude to myself that I was inpatient when I was very patient I was there for almost an hour waiting and then on top of it they said I was raising my voice when the entire time I was talking to them in a normal tone. While she yelled at me.

This store lowkey does not pass the vibe check.

TL:DR - Hiring process is crap and annoying to deal with, Hispanic section is good, and their donuts are AMAZING.
Come here AT LEAST for the donuts, fr worth it.

8 of my friends (9 including me) never got any kind of response when we applied to work here, plus the managers always seemed to mysteriously unavailable to be spoken to.
I've literally called the store, got told to call back the next morning, called the next morning, "Manager on vacation" :/
when will they be back? " X date." Thanks so much.
Called back on X date, "She'll be here tomorrow morning" thanks.
Calls back tomorrow morning, "Hi, not here. Call again tomorrow morning."
At which point I came INTO THE STORE to speak with this elusive hiring manager, just to be told that they were on vacation and won't be back for a while.
: )
So suffice to say, hiring process seems messy, outdated, unreliable, and flat out non-functional at times.
The website needs to be updated, the employees need proper customer service training because regardless of what I'm calling about, and who's answering, it's always in a tone that sounds like I might aswell be interrupting a neurosurgeon mid incision.

The only redeeming quality of this store is what it sells, and I'm not talking standard groceries.
Not only does Shoppers have a decent spread of hispanic foods, ingredients, drinks & snacks, but it's also got some of, if not THE BEST donuts you could buy from a store.

The donut chains like Dunkin or Krispy Kreme got nothing on SFW donuts, they got Croissant donuts (Cronuts), marble iced, Holland Creme (my favorite), jam filled, lemon pudding filled, boston creme, and of course all your standard donut types like powdered, brown sugar, plain and glazed, not to even mention some specialty ones they have on occasion like the apple pie filled brown sugar, or marbled icing cronuts.
Plus they're reasonably priced, which automatically raises the rating for me.

(Next I get donuts I'll snap some pictures and add them!)

Everyone is always friendly and will point direction to make your shopping experience quick and easy. They also questions when I'm shopping alone. And I'm constantly asked where is my mom and is ok. That's truly great customer service.

The W-O-R-S-T grocery store!! Prepare to spend up to $2 more per item AT LEAST as compared to Walmart. We feel that Shoppers is much more expensive than Giant and Safeway...and even Whole Foods on some items. Bought a head of iceberg lettuce(VERY SMALL) just the other day and paid $3....got home...realized it was rotten on the inside and had to take it back. Bought donuts...had no taste and they were stale. If you want sub-par groceries at crazy insultingly high prices... Shoppers is for you!

Today 11/13/2024 Wednesday between 5:30-6:00pm we went to shoppers store located at 7660 richmond highway Alexandria 22306 to buy WIC items for our little 2 years son. After coming to check out the cashier at front was confused and wasn’t able to complete the transaction so she called another lady called nicole or niko something like that who was a rude lady almost shouting at us that you gonna pay for the rest of the items or not and then the cashier told her that he said that he will pay for the milk but before that i told her that I will pay for the rest of the stuff but you take the milk out which is not WIC and keep the other milk which is WIC, then the lady nicole or nico start arguing with me that you said you will pay for it and now you don’t want to buy it i tried to explain her that they might not understand it but still instead of just checking us for the items which are wic and the other items which we wanna buy she continued to argue about the milk we don’t wanna buy. I told her that do u guys will check me out for the items we want to buy through wic or you gonna continue arguing with me but while I noticed that she wants me to leave because i understand that WIC transactions are alittle difficult to handle therefore i left the store with me kids and family buying nothing. There isn’t any other shoppers near to us therefore because of that 2 ladies my kid will sleep without having milk for tonight. I will kindly request shoppers management to please educate the staff to not treat the WIC customers badly and differently and don’t force them to leave the store just because it’s difficult for them to handle the transaction. WIC is for little kids therefore please don’t treat them badly and differently.
