The Cedars Lodge is focused on fishing. The boats pick you up directly in front of the lodge. The food is amazing. Everything on the menu is delicious. Crab, shrimp, prime rib, steak, mac and cheese, cake, turn overs, home made cookies, healthy salads and vegetables help fuel your body to catch amazing fish. The guides are wonderful. They know where the fish are and rest assured you will catch fish if you come when the fish are hungry. A bonus was watching sea lions, birds, and whales. This was the trip of our dreams and at the top of our list of great vacations. Cedars Lodge is within walking distance of downtown Ketchikan with many interesting shops and historic sights.

Very impressed with Cedars Lodge. Their staff is so helpful and attentive & you can tell that they really care about their job and their customers. It is very refreshing to deal with folks like that. I would definitely recommend Cedars Lodge to my most valued friends and family.

Once in a lifetime trip. Everything was great except for very incompetent staff at processing center. Had to call daily to get information regarding unnecessary delays of fish. All instructions and delivery info never followed up and mass confusion when speaking to staff. Trip was beautiful but cedar lodge and lack of accountability and professionalism was a buzz kill.

Very disappointing in the processing. I’ve grown up catching and cleaning a variety of fish. However never halibut or cod. Her explanation is the meat rendered from a cod is 10% and a Halibut rendered 1/3 of the 12lbs. Then to add to this the meat is not marked correctly. Sent a picture as request and “they think the cod is the front package.” So a nice 7-8 lb cod renders two thin 5”strips of fish. There is no concern to make anything right. I was told they would talk to the kids about labeling packages correctly . This experience really took away from the guided fishing. The expense of the guided fishing and then another 209$ in processing made the total cost about 1000$! Cedar Lodges processing and lack of service takes away from the Alaska experience . Lesson learned when booking an excursion know all the sources involved with the excursion. Had I read the reviews I would have chosen differently. The reviews dates back to 2016 with the same concerns. Sadly customer satisfaction is not high on their list. Below is a picture of the fish received from 2 - 12lb halibut and 1 - 7-8lb cod. As stated, Where’s the fish?

As part of our sightseeing tour we stopped at the lodge for lunch. It was fantastic! We had crab legs salmon and prime rib on a buffet with soup and other options. Beer was separate and they also offered a couple desserts that were fantastic I believe one was lemon bars and Strawberry mousse cake.

After 2 fabulous days of fishing with Baranof Fishing Excursions we had 3 Halibut, 1 Lingcod, and 1 Salmon processed at The Cedars Lodge. From the first phone call to the last visit, Kristen was absolutely terrific. This being our first fishing excursion, we needed lots to learn. Kristen was friendly, professional, and patient. She arranged for our pick up of the fish mid day, and after a number of hours arranged for us to buy some extra Halibut. Kristen offered a guided tour of their efficient and speedy fish processing area, something we found very informative and interesting. ||Thanks again Kristen and enjoy your nest visit to your Grandfather.

My husband and I are fond of Alaska fishing and have fished the Alaska Kenai Peninsular for several years. This is our first time visiting Ketchikan. We had a good trip considering we were a better performing boat than others coming back with fish on both days of fishing. We went out with Baranof Fishing Excursions. We limited out on halibut on both days with one of 31", two of 25" and one 20" baby. We also caught three good size cod the first day. No Salmon. Total roughly 55 lbs. of fish.|When we got off the boat and were told that Cedars Lodge would process our fish and they are good. We had no reason to doubt based on our experience in Kenai. Boy, were we wrong about that. When we picked up the frozen fish prior to departure, we were charged for 21lbs. We weighed the fish when we got home. The exact weight is 14 Lbs.4 Oz. out of 55 lbs. of fish (25% of live weight) The box was held in a shipping container outside that did not appear to be refrigerated. We asked what the temperature of the fish was when we picked it up. The employee did not know what the fish had been frozen to. Filets were already thawed out only after a short plane ride from Ketchikan to Seattle. In the past we have flown from Anchorage to Virginia and our fish was still frozen.|The exchange between Baranof and Cedars were not transparent. Fish were not weighed nor separated for fishing parties. |Words of caution, if you want to bring home fish, you may want to bring a scale or process fish yourself.
