Mike and Music in Motion are your next DJ! Mike was very responsive before our wedding, and was extremely professional yet personable during! We picked many of our songs, but he was able to read the room, and the songs I requested, to intersperse ad hoc songs before and during dinner. We had so many compliments on the Photo Booth (Crystal ran that) and the music. The fact that we hired Music in Motion was nothing less than a brilliant decision!

We hired Music in Motion for a Halloween Party. Mike was a total professional from the start. Really listened to what we needed for our event and cared about delivering a memorable experience. Our DJ (a different Mike) was great and kept our party on a high note all night long. The crowd ranged from 25 to 85 and people danced the whole time. Mike from Music in Motion was EXCELLENT!!
My partner, now wife, had a very small wedding in Meriden, CT, that we contracted Music In Motion. Mike, the owner, was our D.J. for this event and we couldn't be more happy!! We did not have all the bells and whistles that you normally see at a wedding, but that was our choice, and Mike made us feel so special. Thank you Mike for helping to create a very special day for Wendy and I.

The service was great!!!! It was better then I could have ever imagined. They were very helpful from the start. From setting up my profile to make a play to helping the party flow smooth and flawless. I was soooo stressed out planning the party and the dj called a few day before the party to make sure that my playlist was complete and everything was all set and the way I wanted it. The DJ made suggestions and asked me plenty of questions to make sure everything was great. The set up was great he set up and took everything down himself. Very polite and caring a pleasure to work with. The DJ even talk to my daughter before the party started to make sure she was OK and not nervous he assured her everything would be great. And that’s exactly how it was the party was freaking amazing couldn’t have done it better myself.

Let’s start by saying that Mike was the worst decision we made for our wedding.
Imagine choosing a beautiful all white marble chapel and your husband centered in front of all of your guests.Now imagine all of that with an ugly old school tall long black mic in the center of your stage. This is what Mike brings to table. Half @$$ work and the bare minimum. We are in 2024, why do we need to request a wireless mic?! All of our ceremony/ first kiss pics reflect Mike’s sloppy work.
Mike speaks so well. He can sell you your dreams. Which is what he did to my husband and I, a mixed cultured couple with family from Ireland and Guyana. Mike knew he needed to play music from both cultures so that all of our guests could be included. He reassured us that he was capable of handling this request, even lying to us and saying he’d contract with another DJ to get the music. Mike did NOT follow through. Instead of playing music both families knew, he played Bollywood music for the first 10 minutes, leaving out half of our guests. He played all songs from the beginning to the end, with a sudden overlap in between. No mixes. No mashups. Which was what we specifically requested before we booked him. He played radio songs that you couldn’t dance to. And then replayed the same songs throughout the night! When I asked him to play a song, he gave me an attitude and said “I played every song on this list”, and pulled out our must play list (which was capped at 15). Mike, if you were doing a great job at playing music, you wouldn’t need the Bride and Groom requesting songs.
When booking Mike, he wanted us to sign a contract that wasn’t reflecting what we spoke about.I gave pushback and Mike acted like he was the bride. So I didn’t sign and he called us and said we were reading the messages out of context but advised he’d do us a favor and reflect the changes.His manipulation made me give him the benefit of the doubt. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. After we signed, we didn’t hear from Mike until WE contacted him to schedule an appointment, 3 days before the wedding.We reviewed the program and told him everything that we wanted. Believe me when I say that this conversation does not matter. Everything that we told Mike during the conversation was ignored. My heart dropped before my entrance because the wrong songs were played during entrances. How?! You have one job! More importantly, we agreed that my husband’s father would be saying grace/blessings before dinner. Mike never announced it so everyone began to eat. Something that was so important to us and to my father in law was left out bc half@$$ Mike did not follow through!His excuse was that it wasn’t on the website.Then what was the purpose of the call where you heard our requests first hand? Like I said before, Mike was the bride bc he made all the final decisions and ignored our requests.
I could go on about all the bad things Mike did but I’ll instead end it with this:
Mike never introduced himself to us.He was hired for 8 hours and at the 6th hour, my husband and I decided to introduce ourselves. He was supposed to MC the wedding but rarely engaged with our guests. Out of 1-5 we told Mike that we wanted a MC level of 4 and we got a 0.Instead, Mike SLOPPILY sat and hid behind the DJ booth, where he made sure he wasn’t seen.
I cannot believe Mike got this far as a DJ. I don’t know what changed from previous reviews but I read that he disputes negative reviews. Please take my advice and DO NOT HIRE MIKE! He ruined so much of our wedding!
