I ordered catering for a Friendsgiving for this past Saturday, including the apple cider turkey, Brussels sprouts, and cornbread stuffing, and unfortunately, I did not have a good experience.

First, the heating instructions were incredibly confusing. There were no clear, detailed directions for properly reheating the apple cider turkey. I had to call after I was home and was transferred to three different people before someone kindly took the time to explain what to do. While I appreciated their help, I chose catering for convenience and shouldn’t have to call after given paper instructions that were confusing.

As for the food, the turkey was moist (a positive), but it lacked flavor overall, which was disappointing for a centerpiece dish. The cornbread was inedible—it had a very strange, unpleasant taste. The Brussels sprouts were just okay.

I wouldn’t choose this place for catering again. I hope they improve their instructions and food quality in the future.

I rarely write reviews, but today is an exceptional case! I want to express my extreme disappointment with the service I received at your store today. My son and I visited to purchase meat and cakes for a holiday celebration, but unfortunately, our experience was anything but pleasant.
Upon arriving at the store, we were forced to wait approximately 15-20 minutes, just to ask about purchasing cakes. Despite our patience, no staff member came but we asked the workers to help us. The girl who was selling strawberries nearby smiled and said - wait). Frustrated by the lack of attention, I approached the checkout counter to seek help, only to be met with hostility from the cashier girl.
Not only was her demeanor extremely unfriendly, she also displayed a complete lack of professionalism. She stepped on my foot, didn't even apologize, and headed towards the cake section, she asked what kind of cake we wanted, but when I said that we needed 3 cakes, she responded angrily, stating that she was only a cashier and incapable of assisting us. To make matters worse, she rudely demanded that I remove my service dog from the store, despite providing her with the necessary documentation proving its status.
As someone who values calmness and avoids conflict whenever possible, I was utterly shocked and appalled by this encounter. Consequently, I chose to abandon my intended purchases and leave the store immediately. It's worth noting that I had planned to spend between $300-400 on goods today, but due to the unacceptable treatment we received, today your store lost a client who spent about 1 thousand dollars a week.
I'm always waiting 5-10 min to purchase a cake, but today 20 min is simply unacceptable, especially for a store with prices like yours. I had hoped for a pleasant shopping experience, but instead, I was met with incompetence and disrespect.
As a dissatisfied customer, I will actively discourage friends and family from patronizing your establishment.

As other reviewers mentioned, it's gone downhill. Convenient location but very overpriced and food cannot be trusted. Baked goods full of high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavor, etc. Whole Foods a bit less bad. Shame Mike's Organic no longer nearby

for being one of the premium grocery stores in greenwich, i was very surprised and disgusted by the amount of fruit flies on the produce. i went to touch a peach and a swarm of 20 fruit flies came off of the stack. so gross

Update 2024: Gone downhill. Deli still nice but four (!) staffer not attentive. Selection still excellent, but worse value as it’s now even more overpriced versus other Greenwich shops. Checkout now poor and slow. Clerks just standing around not helping shoppers waiting on line.

On the small side, pricy, first rate and tasty

Fun place to find off-the-beaten path gourmet items. Expensive. (But so is Whole Foods). I feel like you get a more unique experience at Balducci's though.

They have very good produce and premade food. I also enjoy the baked goods. You can find many high end products here, but I usually can't do a full grocery store visit. Minus one star because while I understand higher end products are more expensive, I feel like some things might be a bit marked up for what they are.
